Steven Spielberg’s ‘Disclosure Day’ Trailer Unveils UFO Mystery
Steven Spielberg returns to science fiction with ‘Disclosure Day’, an original event film centered on extraterrestrial discovery. The first teaser trailer, released by Universal Pictures, depicts unsettling phenomena including crop circles forming in real time, animals behaving abnormally, and humans experiencing apparent possession or transformation. Emily Blunt portrays a weather reporter whose broadcast devolves into eerie clicking sounds, suggesting alien influence.
The trailer poses existential questions about humanity’s place in the universe, with voiceover lines asking whether proof of alien life would frighten people and asserting that the truth belongs to seven billion individuals. Visual elements show characters hooked to machines, eyes altering, and one figure morphing into another. Josh O’Connor plays a central role in uncovering evidence, facing pursuit while declaring the public’s right to know.
David Koepp penned the screenplay based on a story by Spielberg, marking their collaborations since ‘War of the Worlds’ and ‘Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull’. The cast includes Colin Firth, Colman Domingo, Eve Hewson, and Wyatt Russell. John Williams composes the score.
‘Disclosure Day’ represents Spielberg’s first feature since ‘The Fabelmans’ in 2022, which earned seven Oscar nominations. Marketing began with cryptic billboards stating “All will be disclosed”, followed by the trailer attaching to screenings of ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’.
Universal Pictures schedules the theatrical release for June 12, 2026. The project aligns with ongoing congressional hearings on unidentified aerial phenomena and recent documentaries exploring government claims of non-human biologics.
