The creators of Stranger Things have teased a significant musical surprise for the series finale. Ross and Matt Duffer recently revealed that the final episode will feature a specific song that has never been used on television before.

According to the brothers, the massive global resurgence of Kate Bush’s Running Up That Hill during the fourth season played a key role in securing the rights. They implied that under normal circumstances, they would not have been granted permission to use this mystery track.

This clue has sparked a wave of detective work within the fan community, particularly on Reddit. Internet sleuths are currently betting on a specific track by the legendary rock band Pink Floyd.

The leading theory suggests the song is Sorrow from the 1987 album A Momentary Lapse of Reason. Fans argue that the release year aligns perfectly with the show’s timeline, and the band is historically protective of their music rights.

Supporters of this theory point to the song’s lyrics, which describe a land covered in smoke and a “sweet smell of a great sorrow.” These lines could easily serve as a grim description of Hawkins as the Upside Down begins to bleed into the real world.

While Pink Floyd is the current favorite, other fans have suggested artists like Prince, who was also notorious for blocking the use of his music. However, many of his hits have appeared in other media, which might disqualify them based on the creators’ comments.

Do you agree with the Pink Floyd theory, or do you have a different prediction for the final track? Tell us your best guess in the comments.
