‘The Batman Part II’ New Set Photos and Videos Reveal Exciting Production Updates
Matt Reeves has been building excitement for his sequel to the critically acclaimed ‘The Batman’ since its release in 2022, and fans can finally see some concrete production developments. What started as a mix of rumors and postponed schedules has evolved into a steady stream of on-set images and videos confirming that the sequel is actively in progress.
The buzz intensified in May when Reeves shared the first official teaser image of the film’s revamped vehicle, captioned simply “#SnowTires,” hinting at both the Batmobile’s return and the film’s winter setting. Since then, fans have been piecing together a clearer vision of Gotham City through various location leaks.
Recently, the Batmobile was spotted in action, with new photos and videos showing the vehicle being transported through Glasgow, Scotland, on a flatbed trailer past the iconic Ca’ d’Oro building. It later appeared on set amidst snow-covered streets alongside crew members and camera rigs.
Glasgow has previously served as Gotham’s backdrop, appearing in both the original ‘The Batman’ and Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Dark Knight Rises,’ making its return for the sequel a fitting continuation of that visual legacy.
Filming officially commenced in Glasgow city center last week, with a three-week shoot planned across key locations in the city. Earlier production took place in Liverpool, including scenes filmed in the Birkenhead Tunnel. Glasgow World has reported that the production will primarily use the Warner Bros. Studio lot in Leavesden, England, with Glasgow and Liverpool serving as exterior locations to complete the film’s Gotham.
The winter setting has sparked speculation among fans regarding which villain might emerge. Ice and snow have been recurring themes in nearly every set photo released so far, keeping theories about a potential Mr. Freeze appearance alive, despite no official confirmation.
While story details remain closely guarded, earlier reports suggest the sequel will focus significantly on the Dent family, including Harvey, his wife Gilda, and his father Christopher, hinting at a storyline related to Two-Face. However, there are doubts about whether Sebastian Stan will ultimately portray that character.
Other potential villains mentioned include Hush, the Halloween Killer, and Phantasm, but the production has kept tight-lipped about confirming any of them.
Robert Pattinson reprises his role as Batman alongside Scarlett Johansson, joining a returning and expanded cast that includes Sebastian Stan, Colin Farrell, Andy Serkis, Jeffrey Wright, and Charles Dance. Jayme Lawson, Gil Perez-Abraham, Sebastian Koch, and Brian Tyree Henry complete the ensemble, providing Reeves with a talented cast to build upon the noir-inspired detective narrative he introduced in the first film.
Earlier set photos from the Liverpool shoot also provided fans with a glimpse of Bruce Wayne’s undercover “Drifter” persona, the disguise he used in the original film to blend in without attracting attention as Batman. This detail indicates that Reeves is continuing to embrace the grounded, procedural tone that characterized the first installment instead of shifting towards a more conventional blockbuster style.
With production now progressing rapidly across multiple UK locations and a steady flow of leaked footage keeping fans engaged, ‘The Batman Part II’ seems to be on a solid trajectory after years of delays and script revisions. The film is currently slated for a theatrical release on October 1, 2027, giving Reeves and his team ample time to realize this snow-covered vision of Gotham.
