Karl Urban has ignited discussions after reacting to criticism regarding The Boys season five, as fans express their concerns about the direction of the series’ final episodes.

The show, nearing its series finale after nearly seven years, has been a significant success for Amazon. It garnered a loyal fan base and received acclaim for its sharp writing and unique take on superheroes. However, the final season has not resonated with everyone, with some viewers describing the storyline as chaotic and inconsistent.

Much of the criticism has centered on specific plot decisions and what fans perceive as unnecessary story arcs. Online discussions reveal that some viewers feel certain parts of the season come off as filler and fail to connect with earlier plotlines.

Karl Urban, who portrays Billy Butcher, added to the conversation by liking an Instagram Reel from user @euro.pilled. In the video, the creator criticized the season, stating, “The Boys season five is fumbling so fcking bad. Don’t get me wrong, the latest episode was very entertaining, it’s just that it doesn’t make any fcking sense,” as reported from the viral post.

The video also questioned character decisions, particularly regarding Black Noir. The creator expressed frustration, saying, “First and foremost, the thing that pissed me off the most about this episode is that they would, for the second time, kill off Black Noir for no reason whatsoever.”

Further criticisms were directed at other aspects of the episode, highlighting character actions that seemed inconsistent with the storyline. The video has gained significant traction and sparked discussions across social media.

Fan reactions in the comments have varied, with some agreeing with the critiques. One comment noted, “What they did to Kimiko’s character should be considered a crime,” while another remarked, “The whole time watching Noir get choked out, all I could think was ‘Did he forget he could fly?’”

Series creator Eric Kripke also addressed the backlash in an interview with TV Guide. He responded to concerns about pacing and story direction, stating, “None of the things that happen in the last few episodes will matter if you don’t flesh out the characters,” as reported by TV Guide.

He also pushed back against expectations for constant action, adding, “I’m getting a lot of online dissatisfaction, to put it politely. And I’m like, ‘What are you expecting? Are you expecting a huge battle scene every episode?’”

As the series approaches its conclusion, discussions surrounding the final season continue to intensify, with both fan and cast reactions fueling the ongoing debate online.
