As Prime Video prepares for the release of the final episode of ‘The Boys’ season 5, some cast members have voiced their concerns about how the series can conclude such an expansive story in just one finale episode.

Stars Erin Moriarty and Karen Fukuhara shared their insights about the ending while hinting at what fans can anticipate from the concluding chapter of this popular superhero series.

Since 2019, ‘The Boys’ has been building towards this climax, following Billy Butcher, Hughie, Starlight, Kimiko, and the rest of the team as they attempt to thwart Homelander and Vought International. The end of season 4 left several key characters captured after Homelander declared martial law using superheroes, creating numerous unresolved storylines as the finale approaches.

Karen Fukuhara, who portrays Kimiko, expressed her surprise upon reading the script for the last episode. She admitted that she was uncertain how the creators would manage to fit everything into a single episode. “I remember thinking, I was reading the script and I was wondering how they were going to pack all of that in – ‘How will we ever find the time to pack it into one episode?’ – and they did it,” she stated.

Erin Moriarty also teased the finale during an interview, revealing that it is the episode she is most eager for fans to see. While she refrained from disclosing details about the runtime, she hinted that the final episode is filled with significant moments and surprises.

The cast has consistently warned viewers that the ending will remain true to the show’s brutal tone. Jack Quaid, who plays Hughie, recently told Jimmy Fallon that fans should not expect a happy or straightforward ending. “No, it’s ‘The Boys’. It’s not going to be a fairytale ending in any regard. This is the final season, and we really do mean that,” Quaid remarked. He also hinted that several crucial characters will meet their demise before the story concludes.

Showrunner Eric Kripke has also discussed the finale in recent interviews and social media posts, assuring fans that the series will not hold back in its final episodes. The creator emphasized that the last season was crafted to deliver a chaotic and emotional conclusion while remaining true to the violent and unpredictable style that made ‘The Boys’ a hit.

The final season has already set high expectations among fans, particularly after trailers hinted at significant confrontations between Butcher and Homelander. With numerous storylines still unresolved, viewers are eagerly awaiting to see if the finale can successfully conclude one of Prime Video’s most significant shows.
