‘The Grinch 2: Saving Christmas’ Unveils New Trailer Featuring Cindy Lou Who
Dr. Seuss’ iconic grumpy green character has established himself as a beloved seasonal staple across films, games, and merchandise, with each new project offering a unique take on his ongoing journey of redemption. Following a surge in video game adaptations in 2023, a sequel is set to complete the Grinch’s story just in time for the holiday season.
Developed by Outright Games in collaboration with Dr. Seuss Enterprises, ‘The Grinch 2: Saving Christmas’ recently showcased its gameplay, revealing a 3D platforming adventure that spans four distinct worlds and features 23 levels, from the snowy peaks of Mt. Crumpit to the festive streets of Who-ville. The initial trailer highlighted the game’s central premise: the reformed Grinch, accompanied by his faithful dog Max, embarking on a mission to create the most magnificent Christmas tree in Who-ville instead of stealing the holiday.
Now, an exclusive new trailer shifts focus to a different character. This clip centers on Cindy Lou Who, providing players with their first glimpse of her role in the Grinch’s redemption arc, where she serves as a “helper” throughout the adventure.

The trailer also reveals additional details beyond Cindy Lou’s introduction, confirming that players will be encouraged to revisit levels in search of collectible ornaments scattered throughout the game’s worlds. It showcases some of the Grinch’s gadgets in action and introduces Cindy Lou’s Wish Mailbox, an interactive feature players can engage with during their journey.
In addition to Cindy Lou’s role, the broader gameplay trailer released earlier this month highlighted the Grinch’s expanding arsenal of inventive tools, designed to assist players in overcoming obstacles and discovering hidden secrets throughout each level. Rocket Skates allow players to speed through stages, a Jetpack enables them to soar over hazards, and a Snowball Maker can freeze pesky enemies, providing a diverse toolkit that appeals to both younger audiences and seasoned platformer fans.

The game’s release aligns perfectly with the renewed interest in the Grinch character, coinciding with Jim Carrey’s much-anticipated return to the role in an upcoming movie sequel. While the game and the film are separate projects, their overlapping timelines highlight the enduring popularity of the character, decades after his original debut in Dr. Seuss’ works.
With the sequel confirmed to launch later this month, just ahead of the holiday rush, fans eager to return to Who-ville won’t have to wait long to see how Cindy Lou’s involvement and the Grinch’s transformed perspective come together in the final game.
