One of the biggest turn-based strategies of 2025, The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy, might already be getting an anime adaptation. The game, created by Kazutaka Kodaka, known for the Danganronpa series, has been a huge hit with both critics and fans.

It stands out for its impressive character writing and ambitious storytelling.

Kazutaka Kodaka recently hinted at the possibility of an anime adaptation. Responding to fans on social media, he said, “The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy will get an anime if the game sells well.” This has sparked excitement, but there are challenges to making the anime a reality.

One major issue is the game’s story structure. The Hundred Line revolves around a time travel mechanic that lets players experience 100 unique stories. This makes it difficult for an anime to cover everything without losing key elements.

Even if the anime were to focus only on the prologue, it might leave viewers unsatisfied, especially those familiar with the game’s full story.

There is also a financial problem. The game’s production company, Too Kyo Games, took out a big loan to complete The Hundred Line. Despite the game’s success, Kazutaka Kodaka has admitted that the company is still struggling financially. There is a real risk that Too Kyo Games could shut down before an anime is made.

For now, fans can only wait and hope that the game continues to do well. If the sales are strong enough, it might increase the chances of an anime adaptation. Until then, The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy remains a popular and ambitious game that fans want to see brought to life in a new way.
