The New York City Ballet Fall Fashion Gala has become one of the most awaited events on the fall social calendar. Now in its 14th year, it drew stars to Lincoln Center on Thursday, with Sarah Jessica Parker serving as founding chair. Notable guests included Stevie Nicks, Julia Fox, and Fran Drescher.

Drescher arrived with her ex-husband, Peter Marc Jacobson, who looked sharp in a black suit and bow tie. The two collaborated on ‘The Nanny’ and were married for 21 years before their split in 1999. Jacobson came out two years later, and their friendship has only strengthened since.

Drescher has a unique perspective on aging. The actress, who celebrated her 69th birthday on September 30, emphasizes that managing stress is essential for anyone looking to age gracefully. She shared this insight in a Verywell Health interview back in December 2022, and it has gained renewed attention following her gala appearance.

Her philosophy is straightforward: “It ain’t over until you are.” She believes there are always areas to improve, particularly regarding health. Stress is something she monitors closely, as she has found that it negatively impacts her immune system.

Her approach is practical. When stress arises, she makes it a point to lie down and unwind or take a refreshing walk while appreciating nature. She believes that aging well also involves honoring and listening to one’s body.

This mindset is rooted in personal experience. After being misdiagnosed with uterine cancer in 2000, Drescher founded the nonprofit Cancer Schmancer, which focuses on education and healthcare policy advocacy. She stresses that taking charge of one’s health is crucial.

At the gala, her outfit reflected her message. Drescher donned a form-fitting knit Brunello Cucinelli dress paired with YSL earrings and Jimmy Choo heels.

Hello! remarked that she looked younger than ever, seemingly untouched by time since her days on ‘The Nanny.’ She also shared her thoughts on the evening’s performances, noting that the dance choreographed to Nicks’ ‘Landslide’ is among her favorites, according to WWD.

Her life beyond the spotlight remains vibrant. She is currently in her second term as president of the SAG-AFTRA union, continues to lead Cancer Schmancer, and appears in the upcoming 2026 film ‘Marty Supreme.’ In a 2026 interview with People, she expressed contentment with her single life and her fulfilling relationship with Jacobson.

For fans who have followed her since the ’90s, her message is refreshing. There’s no secret potion or miracle diet—just a woman who understands her limits and takes a moment to breathe when stress accumulates. With such a busy schedule, that may be the wisest advice of all.
