‘Daredevil: Born Again’ has taken viewers on a journey through the increasingly personal and violent lives of Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk. The Season 2 finale left fans reeling as it dramatically altered both characters’ trajectories, with Fisk losing his mayoral power and Matt’s identity as the vigilante Daredevil exposed. Since then, speculation has been rife about the timeline for the upcoming third season.

This speculation intensified when it was revealed that Matt would start the new season imprisoned, serving time alongside the very criminals he once fought against as a lawyer. Many fans anticipated a significant time jump, possibly a year or more, to reflect Matt’s incarceration.

However, Vincent D’Onofrio, who portrays Wilson Fisk, has clarified that the timeline for the new season is much shorter than expected. He confirmed that Season 3 picks up just six months after the conclusion of Season 2, with Matt in prison while Fisk is exiled to an undisclosed location, as reported by ComicBookMovie.

D’Onofrio indicated that despite the characters starting the season apart, circumstances will inevitably bring them back together, suggesting another intense confrontation between Daredevil and Kingpin as the plot unfolds. This revelation gives fans a clearer understanding of how quickly the series will address the aftermath of Season 2’s climactic courtroom showdown.

In addition to discussing the timeline, D’Onofrio shared insights about the demanding nature of filming the new season. He expressed that he and co-star Charlie Cox are deeply involved in every aspect of the production, describing the experience as both rewarding and physically challenging due to the high volume of action scenes.

While Cox and fellow actor Wilson Bethel take on a significant portion of the stunt work, D’Onofrio noted that this season has been physically taxing for the entire cast. This hands-on approach has been a hallmark of the show since its inception, with both lead actors contributing to the series’ development beyond their performances.

Season 2 concluded with Fisk agreeing to leave New York and resign as mayor after Matt exposed his criminal activities in court, only for Matt to be arrested shortly thereafter for his vigilante actions. This finale placed both characters in starkly contrasting positions of power as they head into the new season, with Fisk losing his political influence while Matt loses his freedom.

With D’Onofrio confirming that the two characters will reunite despite their separate circumstances, Season 3 seems set to reignite their long-standing rivalry much sooner than fans had anticipated. Given the show’s history of escalating tensions between Daredevil and Kingpin, this reunion is likely to have significant repercussions for both characters.

As Season 3 is currently in production and slated to premiere on Disney+ next year, fans now have a clearer understanding of how quickly Matt and Fisk’s paths are set to converge once again.
