Marvel enthusiasts have been eagerly anticipating the episode runtimes for ‘VisionQuest’ on Disney+, and the wait is finally over. This series marks the third and final chapter in the trilogy that began with ‘WandaVision’ and continued with ‘Agatha All Along.’ It follows Vision as he embarks on a quest for new meaning while on the run with a mysterious boy who may be his son.

Terry Matalas serves as the showrunner, with Paul Bettany reprising his role as Vision and James Spader returning as Ultron. The cast also features Ruaridh Mollica, Todd Stashwick, T’Nia Miller, and Lauren Morais. The series is set to premiere on Disney+ on October 14, launching with two episodes, which will also be screened at BFI IMAX in London on October 12, two days prior.

Cosmic Marvel shared the complete list of episode runtimes on X on October 3, referencing a report from the Brazilian site Legado da Marvel. Episode 1 has a runtime of 53 minutes, while Episode 2 runs for 45 minutes. Episode 3 clocks in at 52 minutes, followed by Episode 4 at 48 minutes, Episode 5 at 46 minutes, and Episode 6 at 54 minutes.

The final two episodes promise to be particularly intriguing. Episode 7 runs for 1 hour and 2 minutes, while Episode 8 extends to 1 hour and 8 minutes. Altogether, the series totals 7 hours and 8 minutes of content.

No episode is shorter than 45 minutes, indicating that Marvel intends to provide ample storytelling space for Vision’s journey. The festival listing for the initial two episodes aligns with these runtimes, totaling 97 minutes for the premiere.

According to ComicBookMovie, episodes 7 and 8 will break the previous record of 58 minutes set by ‘Hawkeye,’ making them the longest episodes in MCU television history. This means the finale will be the longest episode of MCU streaming content since ‘Hawkeye.’ Combined, the last two episodes are feature-length, which should delight fans eager for deeper character exploration.

However, there is a slight caveat. The Direct notes that it remains uncertain whether the officially listed runtimes account for end credits, and if so, how much they contribute. Marvel’s recent shows have featured shorter credits compared to those in 2021, so actual viewing times may vary.

The first two episodes are already making a significant impact. Averaging 48.5 minutes each, they represent the longest two-episode premiere in the ‘WandaVision’ trilogy. This aligns with the show’s tone, as ‘WandaVision’ initially leaned into its multi-era sitcom premise before unveiling its reality-bending narrative.

The episode lengths are also crucial as Marvel television looks ahead. Cosmic Book News highlights that ‘VisionQuest’ is the last new live-action Marvel series scheduled for Disney+. Following it, the only confirmed live-action show is the third and final season of ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ set for 2027.

This raises the stakes for a storyline that must conclude a trilogy. Episodes are expected to be released weekly, giving fans ample time to speculate between installments. A longer finale also allows the series to address the bounty on Vision’s head, his connection with the boy, and his reunion with Ultron.

Early marketing has emphasized these plot threads. The trailer introduces Paladin, portrayed by Stashwick, a masked mercenary who targets Vision after a bounty is placed on him. With such generous runtimes, ‘VisionQuest’ appears poised to take its time with the narrative.
