Netflix is adding a lot of exciting new content in May 2025. From animated films to new original shows, there’s something for everyone. Highlights include the Oscar-nominated animated film The Wild Robot, the follow-up to Fear Street called Prom Queen, and the final season of Big Mouth.

Fans can also look forward to the new limited series Sirens starring Julianne Moore and Kevin Bacon, plus the fourth volume of Love, Death and Robots, with 10 brand-new stories. Let’s take a look at what’s coming to Netflix next month!

May 1

“Angi: Fake Life, True Crime” (Netflix Original)

Ana Páez, a 35-year-old fashion designer, was found dead in a tourist apartment in Barcelona on February 19, 2008. She was naked with a plastic bag over her head, leading police to initially suspect a sexual crime or a sadistic game gone wrong.

The case, known as “The Almost Perfect Crime,” is explored in a documentary miniseries that reveals the involvement of María Ángeles Molina (“Angi”) and her connection to her late husband, Juan Antonio Álvarez Litben, who died unexpectedly in 1996.

“The Biggest Fan” (Netflix Original)

The Biggest Fan (2025) is a 1-hour and 31-minute film starring Kate del Castillo. The story follows Lana Cruz, a disgraced actress who has been canceled by Hollywood. She returns to Mexico to work in a film and prove she’s still a star, but she faces an unexpected challenge in Polly, her biggest fan and worst nightmare.

Directed by Maria Torres, the film also stars Diana Bovio and Gabriel Nuncio.

“The Four Seasons” Season 1 (Netflix Original)

The show follows three suburban couples who vacation together each season. Tensions build when one couple splits up, and the husband brings a much younger woman on their trips. Created by Tina Fey, Lang Fisher, and Tracey Wigfield, the series stars Steve Carell, Will Forte, and Colman Domingo.

Britain and the Blitz (2025) is a 77-minute documentary that delves into the harrowing period of World War II known as the Blitz, when Germany launched extensive bombing campaigns over Britain.

“Mighty Monsterwheelies” Season 2 (Netflix Original)

Mighty MonsterWheelies is a CGI-animated preschool adventure series that premiered on Netflix on October 14, 2024. Set in the all-vehicle town of Motorvania, the show reimagines classic monster characters as half-monster, half-rescue vehicle heroes. The team includes Bolts Frankenstein (a firetruck), Sonnie Dracula (a helicopter), Sweeps Wolfman (a street sweeper), Wraps Stretcher (an ambulance), Gill E. Creature (a tow truck), and Axyl Bride (a motorcycle).

Together, they tackle various challenges to protect their community, such as fires, floods, and meteors, while promoting teamwork, problem-solving, and inclusivity. ​

Untold: Shooting Guards is a 2025 Netflix documentary that delves into the infamous 2009 incident involving NBA players Gilbert Arenas and Javaris Crittenton. The film explores how a gambling dispute escalated into a locker room confrontation where guns were drawn, leading to significant consequences for both players.
