HBO’s ‘Harry Potter’ Series Set Leaks Give Us a First Look at Privet Drive

HBO is working on a new ‘Harry Potter’ series, as most of you likely know. The show will adapt one book per season, with seven seasons planned. Filming is set to start in summer 2025.

Now, in preparations for the upcoming filming, the first set leaks are making it online. Notable leaker UnBoxPHD recently shared what appears to be a first look at Privet Drive.

Privet Drive is a street in Little Whinging, a town in Surrey, near London. The houses are plain and boxy, with gardens in the front and back.

The Dursleys lived at Number Four, and that’s likely the most notable detail regarding the street.

The series has had a long road to development. It was first talked about in 2021, but rights issues made things complicated. Now, it’s officially moving forward and will debut on Max in 2026.

Casting is already underway. John Lithgow has been chosen to play Dumbledore, despite some controversy about an American actor taking on the role. Paapa Essiedu and Janet McTeer are also in talks to play Snape and McGonagall.
