And while the future of the Star Wars franchise is very enigmatic at this point, the franchise is moving forward and there are some projects we are actually looking forward to.

Lucasfilm is still searching for the right formula to get the franchise back on track, but we are still looking forward to The Mandalorian & Grogu movie, as well as the upcoming Starfighter film starring Ryan Gosling.

The movie was officially announced recently but while both Gosling and Shawn Levy are attached to the project, the film has had its issues along the way. A new rumor, though, suggests that things are moving forward.

As you probably know, Starfighter is projected to be a big project, and considering that Levy and Gosling are involved, we believe that Lucasfilm is betting big on this movie, which is why they probably want to get it right.

We’ve already reported on the movie’s plot, which would involve Gosling’s Jedi character teaching his young nephew the ways of the Force, while being chased by a duo of villains. Several A-list names such as Sarah Snook and Jesse Plemons have been linked with the project, but they have seemingly rejected the roles and, according to the latest rumor, no major name, aside from Gosling, is attacked to the project.

The rumor comes from Daniel Richtman, who shared it via his Patreon account. He also revealed that casting for the main child role is underway, as well as the fact that the movie is scheduled to begin filming in September.

A September filming start is definitely good news and while this is a rumor you should, as always, take with a grain of salt, it is definitely a great one and we hope that it turns out to be true.
