Andy Serkis has sparked excitement among Marvel fans by seemingly hinting that Kamala Khan, known as Ms. Marvel, might make a comeback in Avengers: Doomsday. The character, portrayed by Iman Vellani, was last seen in The Marvels in 2023.

Currently, Vellani is not listed in the official cast for Avengers: Doomsday. However, Serkis’ remarks have led many to speculate that her return could be in the works, even if it hasn’t been officially confirmed yet.

This intriguing moment occurred during a joint interview with Cinemahub, where Serkis and Vellani discussed their upcoming projects. The two actors are collaborating on the animated film Animal Farm.

During their chat, Vellani mentioned Serkis’ role as Gollum in The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum, which he is both directing and starring in. Serkis then redirected the conversation towards Marvel.

“I’m excited to see you in Doomsday!” Serkis exclaimed. Vellani quickly responded, “No, you can’t say that!”

Serkis appeared to backtrack slightly, saying, “Oh I can’t? Oh, well, if there should ever be the chance to see you in a film, like called Doomsday…” Vellani quickly chimed in, “If there is a chance, like Doomsday…” before they shifted the conversation back to their joint project.

This exchange has raised questions about whether Serkis was genuinely teasing or simply got carried away in a casual conversation. Given that both actors are currently promoting Animal Farm, it’s also possible the moment was just lighthearted banter.

Marvel has yet to confirm Ms. Marvel’s involvement in Avengers: Doomsday. However, fans have been anticipating her return following the events of The Marvels, where Kamala Khan began to assemble a new team of young heroes, including Kate Bishop, played by Hailee Steinfeld, and Cassie Lang.

Cassie Lang, portrayed by Kathryn Newton, is already confirmed for Avengers: Doomsday, fueling speculation that a younger team of heroes might appear in the film, even if only briefly.

Reports indicate that some filming may still be taking place for smaller roles after the main production phase. This has led to theories that certain characters could make brief appearances to set up future Marvel projects, including Avengers: Secret Wars and potential Young Avengers storylines.

In Animal Farm, Serkis voices Mr. Jones, the farm owner, while Vellani voices the piglets Puff and Tammy. The film also features voice roles from Seth Rogen, Glenn Close, Steve Buscemi, and Woody Harrelson.

For now, Ms. Marvel’s return remains unconfirmed. However, Serkis’ comments have ignited fresh speculation and excitement about Marvel’s plans for the next phase of its universe.
