‘Star Wars’ continues to captivate audiences, and the latest figures confirm its enduring popularity. Nearly 50 years after its debut, fans are still flocking to the galaxy far, far away in impressive numbers.

According to data from Nielsen, viewers in the United States consumed a staggering 33 billion minutes of ‘Star Wars’ content in 2025, which translates to around 550 million hours. This total encompasses both traditional television and streaming, with Disney+ serving as the primary platform for the franchise since its acquisition by Disney in 2012.

Movies made up the largest portion of this viewing, accounting for 44.2% of all watch time. Following closely were live-action shows at 38.9%, while animated series contributed 16.8%. Documentaries had a minimal impact, representing just 0.2% of the total.

In terms of specific titles, ‘Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope’ topped the viewing charts, followed by ‘Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace’ and ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.’

On the television front, ‘Andor’ led with an impressive 7.4 billion minutes viewed. Its second season, which premiered between April and May 2025, significantly boosted these numbers. The show maintained a spot on Nielsen’s Top 10 Streaming Originals chart for six consecutive weeks during that period. Following ‘Andor,’ ‘Skeleton Crew’ and ‘The Mandalorian’ were the next most popular titles.
