The return of ‘King of the Hill’ feels truly deserved, as the beloved creation by Mike Judge and Greg Daniels ran for 13 seasons on Fox from 1997 to 2010, garnering a dedicated fanbase before its cancellation. For 15 years, fans hoped to see Hank, Peggy, Bobby, and the rest of the Rainey Street crew back on television, and the revival ordered by Hulu brought an overwhelming response.

Season 14, the first part of the revival, premiered on Hulu in August 2025, nearly 15 years after the original series finale. It followed the Hills as they returned to the fictional Arlen, Texas, after Hank’s job in Saudi Arabia. The show quickly reminded viewers why it was so beloved.

According to Nielsen, the revival amassed 1.21 billion minutes of viewing time in its premiere week, with Disney confirming it was the best premiere for an adult animated series on Disney+ and Hulu in five years, attracting 4.4 million views worldwide in its first week.

Now, fans have the first official poster for ‘King of the Hill’ Season 15, along with exciting news. The new season, the show’s 15th overall, will release all 10 episodes on July 20. The key art features the familiar lineup of Bill, Hank, Dale, and Boomhauer in their usual spots, and it seems Hank might be considering getting a new dog to fill the void left by his beloved bloodhound, Lady Bird.

The official logline for the season indicates that Hank and Peggy are settling into retirement life on Rainey Street while trying to keep their neighbors in check, while Bobby navigates old friendships and the pressures of entrepreneurship.

Original cast members Mike Judge, Kathy Najimy, Pamela Adlon, Stephen Root, Lauren Tom, and Toby Huss are all returning, with Huss taking over the role of Dale Gribble after the passing of Johnny Hardwick. Unfortunately, the series also lost Jonathan Joss, who voiced John Redcorn, in 2025, meaning Season 15 will continue without two of its original beloved performers.

Before the July premiere, the creative team, including Judge, Daniels, and showrunner Saladin Patterson, will present a preview of the season at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in June, where Judge will receive the Honorary Cristal and conduct a masterclass on animation.

With Hulu already renewing the show for two more seasons, extending it through Season 17, this revival is not just a fleeting experiment but a significant investment in one of animation’s most cherished properties.

Season 15 of ‘King of the Hill’ will be available on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ starting July 20, and all indications suggest that Arlen is in very capable hands. Share your thoughts in the comments below.
