Charlie Cox Shares His Dream Marvel Heroes for Daredevil’s Future in the MCU
Charlie Cox has been discussing the future of his character within the Marvel universe, sparking renewed interest among fans about what lies ahead for the Man Without Fear. This conversation comes as the actor promotes his role in ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ while reflecting on potential crossovers in the broader MCU.
In a recent appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Cox was asked about the possibility of his character joining forces with major teams like the Avengers or reuniting with Spider-Man after previous collaborations in projects like ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ and ‘She-Hulk: Attorney at Law’. He expressed his enthusiasm for the idea of larger character crossovers.
He stated, “It’d be so cool to kind of have some kind of crossover with all of the Avengers, with Spider-Man as Daredevil, rather than as Matt Murdock, all of that kind of stuff.” The notion of Daredevil engaging more directly with significant MCU heroes has been a long-standing hope among fans, particularly as Marvel continues to expand its universe through films and Disney+ series.
However, Cox clarified that, for the time being, Marvel’s plans for him are more focused. He mentioned that the studio has set clear expectations regarding his current priorities.
He explained, “Marvel have been clear with me for now at least that I’m focusing on the show, that’s our focus. That really is the truth.”
This indicates that his current attention is on ‘Daredevil: Born Again’, which is actively filming new episodes in New York. While he acknowledged that crossover opportunities exist within the MCU, nothing has been officially confirmed for upcoming large-scale projects.
Cox also addressed speculation regarding appearances in major ensemble films like ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ and ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’. He advised fans not to expect any official announcements at this time, despite the tendency for Marvel characters to intersect in surprising ways.
He acknowledged that the concept of team-ups is something fans enjoy, but for now, his focus remains on the Disney+ segment of the universe. Nevertheless, he left the door open for future appearances, hinting at possibilities down the line.
Alongside his insights, Cox reflected on his long-standing connection to the character, even joking that he would be delighted to continue portraying Daredevil for years, referencing an older version of the character seen in recent comic arcs.
For now, however, Marvel seems to be keeping Charlie Cox focused on street-level narratives rather than major crossover events, even as fans continue to hope for a more significant role in the MCU’s future.
