Salma Hayek recently graced Venice with her family, where her daughter Valentina Paloma Pinault captured attention for her striking resemblance to her famous mother.

The family attended the Fondazione Cini dinner on May 6 during the 61st International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia in Venice, Italy. Salma was accompanied by her husband François-Henri Pinault and her stepdaughter Mathilde Pinault for the evening.

Salma wore a stunning black gown featuring an elegant asymmetric neckline. The fitted, sleeveless dress sparkled with silver accents that glimmered as she moved. The lower part of the dress flowed into a ruched skirt with a high slit, perfectly complemented by a black clutch and high heels. Her hair was styled in soft waves, and her makeup was classic with smoky eyes and a soft rose lip.

Valentina, now 18, mirrored her mother’s style beautifully. She donned a black gown with a similar asymmetric neckline and a fitted silhouette. Her dress featured a thigh-high slit but was more understated without sparkles. She accessorized with a silver clutch and wore her blonde hair in loose waves. Fans quickly noted her resemblance to Salma, with many calling her a spitting image of her mother.

Mathilde Pinault also embraced the same theme for the evening, wearing a black gown with long sleeves and a plunging neckline. Her dress featured modern cutout details on the bodice, aligning with the family’s color palette. François-Henri Pinault opted for a classic navy suit paired with a white shirt and tie, keeping his look simple yet formal.

Salma and François-Henri welcomed Valentina in 2007. He also has children from previous relationships, including Mathilde and François from his marriage to Dorothée Lepère, and Augustin, his son with supermodel Linda Evangelista.

Beyond fashion, Valentina is carving out her own path. Salma has shared her daughter’s aspirations in interviews, noting Valentina’s interest in studying political science and film. She expressed, “She’s going her own way. She wants to study political science and then, as a minor, film because she wants to be a director.” Salma elaborated that Valentina is eager to learn broadly, stating, “She said, ‘It’s in my blood. I want to spend the time learning something more complicated.’”

Having recently turned 18, Valentina’s growth has been an emotional journey for Salma. She remarked, “When you’re a Mexican Lebanese mother, it’s a very difficult thought because we like them close.”

She also reflected on her next life stage, explaining her plans to focus more on her work and community as Valentina becomes more independent. She mentioned that she and her husband have discussed this transition for quite some time.

The Venice appearance highlighted a special moment of connection between mother and daughter. Their coordinated fashion choices underscored why many are calling Valentina her mother’s twin, while also showcasing her emerging identity.
