‘Gen V’ has officially concluded after two seasons, and actress Jaz Sinclair has shared a heartfelt farewell to her character Marie Moreau. The series, part of ‘The Boys’ universe on Prime Video, had its cancellation confirmed in April.

Sinclair, who portrayed Marie Moreau, took to Instagram to reflect on her journey with the show. In her post, she expressed how the role transformed her life and the deep connection she felt with the character from the very beginning. She recounted auditioning for ‘Gen V’ back in January 2021 and how different it felt compared to her usual auditions.

She shared, “My first audition for ‘Gen V’ was January of 2021. Normally I do a tape and forget about it forever, but for some reason I dreamt about this one for a month. When I got the call (after 5 more auditions) I screamed and cried and jumped up and down. I felt the kind of head to toe excitement that you only feel when something is all the way right.”

Sinclair also mentioned the challenge of summarizing her experience working on the show over the years. In her Instagram message, she reflected on the ups and downs she faced during that time and the strong friendships she built on set. She expressed pride in her role as Marie.

She added, “I can’t possibly sum up the last 5 years of joys, challenges, loss, laughter, late nights and friendships in a post.”

Sinclair also reflected on the significance of her character. She emphasized that playing Marie Moreau was particularly meaningful as a woman of color portraying a complex superhero. The positive reactions from fans regarding Marie made her experience feel even more impactful.

She expressed, “But what I will say is that I am truly honored to have gotten to be your Marie. She is fierce and flawed and powerful as hell. And as a woman, particularly a woman of color it brings me so much pride to have gotten to embody such a multifaceted and badass character.”

Sinclair also shared how meeting fans and hearing their feedback filled her with pride. She remarked, “Every time one of you fine folks say hi to me on the street and let me know you were moved by Marie I positively beam, that’s what it’s all for I think.”

The series featured Jaz Sinclair alongside actors like the late Chance Perdomo, Lizze Broadway, Maddie Phillips, and others. Developed as a spin-off of ‘The Boys’, the franchise is based on the comic series by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson.

With the show’s conclusion, Sinclair’s message marks the end of Marie Moreau’s journey on screen. Her farewell post underscores the personal significance of the role and her connection with both the character and the audience.
