Netflix is experiencing significant success in 2026 as its limited thriller series His & Hers has emerged as the most-watched show of the year thus far, quietly securing a spot in the all-time top 10, according to Netflix viewership reports shared five months after its January premiere.

Based on the 2020 novel His & Hers by Alice Feeney, the series was developed by William Oldroyd, with Dee Johnson serving as the showrunner. Released as a six-episode limited series on Netflix, it quickly ascended the platform’s global charts following its launch.

The show boasts a well-known cast, including Tessa Thompson, Jon Bernthal, Pablo Schreiber, Marin Ireland, Sunita Mani, Rebecca Rittenhouse, Crystal Fox, Chris Bauer, and Poppy Liu. The narrative centers around two estranged spouses, Anna and Jack, who find themselves intertwined in the same murder case but on opposing sides of the investigation.

In the storyline, Anna is a former reporter who returns to her hometown in Georgia after a local murder draws her back into investigative work. Simultaneously, her estranged husband Jack is the detective assigned to the case, creating tension as both begin to suspect each other of concealing crucial secrets.

Tessa Thompson and Jon Bernthal lead the narrative as Anna and Jack, with their characters caught between their shared history and a burgeoning murder investigation. The plot thickens as more suspects emerge, complicating the case as the episodes progress.

Author Alice Feeney previously expressed her excitement about seeing her book adapted for television, stating, “When His & Hers lands on Netflix, it will be seven years since I wrote the book in my shed… What a journey it has been. I love this story with all of my dark heart, I love the TV series too, and everyone who helped make this dream come true.”

Reviews have praised the performances of Thompson and Bernthal, though opinions vary regarding the pacing and overall execution of the story. Nevertheless, many viewers have highlighted the ending as one of the series’ standout elements.
