The streaming landscape is evolving once again, with major platforms vying for supremacy. The latest insights come from the Samba TV Weekly Wrap Report, which monitors viewing habits across more than 3 million U.S. households.

This week, ‘Euphoria’ has ascended to the top of the streaming chart, marking its return after three weeks just shy of the number one position. The show’s resurgence highlights the sustained interest in HBO Max content, particularly amidst fierce competition from Netflix.

Prior to ‘Euphoria’s’ rise, Netflix’s action film ‘Apex’ held the top position for two weeks but has since fallen off the chart entirely. Earlier in the cycle, HBO Max also dominated with ‘The Pitt’, which maintained the number one spot for five weeks during its second season.

The rivalry is reignited between HBO Max and Netflix, with Netflix currently in second place thanks to the action series ‘Man on Fire’, which climbed three spots this week. Other Netflix titles are also making appearances on the chart, including new releases like ‘Remarkably Bright Creatures’, ‘Swapped’, ‘Should I Marry a Murderer?’, and a fresh adaptation of ‘Lord of the Flies’.

In third place, ‘The Boys’ continues its impressive performance on Prime Video. As it approaches its final season with only a few episodes remaining, it remains one of the most-watched series on the platform this week, despite stiff competition from Netflix and HBO Max.

The Samba TV Wrap Report indicates that the chart reflects viewing trends across both streaming and traditional television, based on a substantial sample of U.S. households. This provides a snapshot of what audiences are tuning into each week across major services.

Other noteworthy mentions include ‘Your Friends & Neighbors’ on Apple TV, which remains in the lower half of the chart, and ‘Rooster’, a comedy series from HBO Max that returns in ninth place with its season finale episode.

On the traditional TV front, ‘American Idol’ once again claims the top spot, continuing its strong performance in live television viewing. CBS’s ‘Marshals’ follows in second place, while NBC’s ‘Chicago Med’ and ‘Chicago Fire’ also rank well in the weekly standings.

Overall, this week’s data illustrates a clear trend. HBO Max and Netflix are locked in a battle for dominance at the top of the streaming charts, while platforms like Prime Video and Apple TV maintain steady but smaller shares of the top ten.
