Marvel’s upcoming Avengers films are gearing up for production, and fresh casting information for Avengers: Secret Wars is beginning to surface online.

As reported by AllCasting.com, Marvel Studios is actively seeking extras to fill various background roles for this highly anticipated crossover film.

The casting descriptions indicate a range of roles, including military personnel, civilians, fighters, survivors, scientists, and “enhanced beings.” While these roles do not reveal major characters, the diversity has already ignited fan speculation regarding the film’s scale and setting.

The presence of survivors and military roles has led some fans to theorize that the film may depict large-scale destruction or multiversal conflict, aligning with the tone expected from Secret Wars. Furthermore, the mention of “enhanced beings” hints at the inclusion of powered individuals beyond the main Avengers roster.

Marvel Studios first unveiled Avengers: Secret Wars at San Diego Comic-Con in 2022, marking it as a key part of the MCU’s Multiverse Saga conclusion. The project has undergone several significant changes since its announcement.

Initially, Marvel intended to proceed with Avengers: The Kang Dynasty before altering its course due to legal issues involving actor Jonathan Majors, who was set to reprise his role as Kang the Conqueror. Over time, the studio has restructured its Avengers storyline.

In July 2024, Marvel confirmed the return of Anthony and Joe Russo as directors for both Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. Stephen McFeely also returned as co-writer alongside Michael Waldron. One of the most significant announcements was Robert Downey Jr.’s return to the MCU, this time portraying Doctor Doom instead of Tony Stark.

Avengers: Doomsday is expected to unite various Marvel teams, including the Avengers, Wakandans, Fantastic Four, New Avengers, and X-Men characters as they confront Doctor Doom. Numerous prominent MCU actors are anticipated to appear in both films, including Pedro Pascal, Anthony Mackie, Vanessa Kirby, Letitia Wright, Simu Liu, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach.

Production for Doomsday reportedly took place from April to September 2025 at Pinewood Studios in England. Filming for Secret Wars is currently slated to commence in mid-2026 and is expected to last approximately six months.

While Marvel has not officially commented on the reported casting calls for extras, these new details continue to heighten anticipation for what is expected to be one of the studio’s most significant crossover events ever.

Avengers: Doomsday is currently set for release on December 18, while Avengers: Secret Wars is scheduled to hit theaters on December 17, 2027.
