Sydney Sweeney Reveals She Almost Had a Breast Reduction in High School
Sydney Sweeney has candidly discussed her struggles with body image during her teenage years and how she once contemplated altering her appearance before ultimately deciding against it.
In a recent interview with Glamour UK, published on Thursday, the 28-year-old actress shared that she felt uncomfortable with her body in high school and even considered getting a breast reduction when she turned 18.
Reflecting on her past mindset, she said, “Flaunt what you got. Own it. Love them. When I was in high school, I used to feel uncomfortable about how big my boobs were and I used to say that when I turned 18, I was going to get a boob job to make them smaller.”
Sweeney revealed that her mother intervened and discouraged her from going through with the procedure. According to Sweeney, her mother advised her, “Don’t do it. You’ll regret it in college.” Looking back, she expressed gratitude for that advice and has no regrets about her decision to embrace her natural self.
She mentioned that her confidence has evolved over the years, emphasizing that self-acceptance is crucial to her current happiness. “And I’m so glad I didn’t. I like them. They’re my best friends. Everybody’s body is beautiful. When you are confident and you’re happy within is when it really shows to other people,” she stated.
Sweeney also touched on public perceptions regarding her image and the misconceptions people often hold. “The biggest misconception about me is that I’m a dumb blonde with big tits,” she remarked.
The actress is well-known for her performances in ‘Euphoria’, ‘The White Lotus’, and ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’. Recently, she has also ventured into entrepreneurship, launching her lingerie brand SYRN in early 2026, which emphasizes comfort and inclusivity, inspired by her own challenges in finding well-fitting bras for a larger bust.
Sweeney’s remarks contribute to her ongoing dialogue about body confidence, self-image, and her experiences navigating attention in Hollywood.
