The conversation surrounding the series finale has intensified, particularly due to comments made by series creator Eric Kripke. Recent interviews have sparked speculation among fans regarding the fates of key characters in the concluding episode.

Much of the speculation centers on Homelander and Soldier Boy, whose complex father-son dynamic has been a focal point in recent seasons.

Fans have noted that Kripke hinted at a significant outcome for Homelander. In a widely circulated statement, he remarked: “Our notion was their (Gen V characters) story wasn’t just over just because Homelander is dead. There was a whole other interesting space they occupy as young adults in this world.” This comment has led to various interpretations, especially as it connects ‘The Boys’ with the spin-off ‘Gen V’. However, Amazon Prime Video has yet to confirm any character endings.

Kripke also addressed Soldier Boy’s future, confirming that he will not appear in the final episode, which has tempered expectations for fans hoping for his return in the climactic showdown.

Earlier in Season 5, viewers witnessed Homelander’s increasing power and control over significant institutions, alongside his ideology’s spread. Meanwhile, Soldier Boy’s storyline took a turn as his relationship with Homelander deteriorated, distancing him from the main conflict.

Soldier Boy’s actions shifted dramatically after he was given V1, leading to significant consequences for Homelander and the overarching power struggle, heightening the tension as the finale approaches.

In an interview with Collider, Kripke also shared a detail regarding Soldier Boy’s final moments, stating: “Knowing that that (the Impala reference) was going to be Jensen’s last scene in the series, we wanted to put in one last reference.”

With the finale set to premiere on May 20 on Amazon Prime Video, fans are eagerly anticipating how the various storylines will converge and how the series will wrap up its beloved characters.
