During the season finale event for ‘The Boys’, the cast engaged in a lively discussion about which superheroes their characters could potentially defeat in a fight. The responses varied among the cast members, showcasing the unique perspectives each actor has on their role within the show’s universe.

This information was shared during the official ‘The Boys’ cast event, where the actors participated in interviews and Q&A sessions about their characters and the broader superhero landscape.

Jensen Ackles, who portrays Soldier Boy, kicked off the conversation by comparing himself to one of the most iconic heroes in comics. He playfully suggested a crossover scenario involving a match-up with Captain America.

He remarked, “Somebody just sent me a clip of Soldier Boy versus Captain America. It was like an AI clip. I mean, I don’t know, I’d love to mix it up with Chris; he and I go way back. But as far as the characters go, that’d be interesting.”

Jessie T. Usher, who plays A-Train, took a more assertive approach, choosing The Flash as a possible contender. He noted that while speed would make the fight intriguing, A-Train’s abilities could hold their own.

He stated, “The Flash. I’m starting beef tonight. A-Train is pretty quick, and he is also pretty strong too. So I feel like he can take a lot of characters, actually.”

Erin Moriarty, known for her role as Starlight, opted for a different kind of opponent, expressing interest in a battle against the Joker, emphasizing the psychological aspect over sheer power.

She said, “I’m gonna go with the Joker. If she beat the Joker talk about badass. And the Joker is my favorite in terms of all of the evil characters in those movies.”

Laz Alonso, who plays Mother’s Milk, provided a more pragmatic choice, suggesting Hawkeye as a character he could potentially defeat in close combat.

He explained, “Maybe Hawkeye. The reason why is because if he can close the distance and he can’t use his arrow then it becomes mano y mano and in a fist fight MM is serious business.”

Chace Crawford, portraying The Deep, took a more humorous stance, admitting that his character would likely struggle against most opponents, jokingly mentioning Aquaman.

He quipped, “I don’t think The Deep could take anybody in a fight. I mean he could maybe take Aquaman because he’d be on his own turf. There’s a B movie in there somewhere. You know, not without my dolphin.”

Karen Fukuhara, who plays Kimiko, envisioned a balanced fight, imagining a showdown between Kimiko and Katana, predicting a long and evenly matched battle.

She expressed, “I would love to see a Katana/Kimiko fight off. I feel like they’d go toe to toe. So I feel like they’re going to be battling it out for a very long time and then it’s kind of going to be a draw at the end. They’ll just like become friends and eat food.”

Daveed Diggs, who plays Oh Father, had a more uncertain perspective, suggesting Spider-Man could pose a challenge, while also noting that confidence might influence the fight’s outcome.

He said, “I don’t know that he’d win against Spider-Man but I feel like he would feel like he’s scrawny enough and whatever, like you know, what you going to shoot me with some web Spider-Man?”

Cameron Crovetti, who plays Ryan, kept it simple, suggesting Doctor Doom as an interesting opponent.

He said, “Doctor Doom maybe? I think that’d be interesting fight.”

Tomer Capone, who plays Frenchie, took a bold approach, claiming he could take on everyone at once.

He declared, “All of them. All of them in episode – and the final episode will prove you that my man.”

Susan Heyward, who plays Sister Sage, noted her character would avoid direct confrontations, preferring to let others handle physical battles.

She explained, “You know, I don’t think she takes on anyone in the fight. I think she is always going to find a way to weasel out of it and have someone else fight her physical battles for her. Always.”

Nathan Mitchell, who plays Black Noir, provided a quirky answer, joking about much smaller opponents before making larger comic book comparisons.

He said, “Jeff the Shark? Fly him into space. Little resistance.”

Finally, showrunner Eric Kripke weighed in on the ongoing debate between Homelander and Superman. He leaned towards his own character but acknowledged that the fight isn’t solely about strength.

He stated, “I mean, obviously, I got to give to my boy Homelander. The thing is Homelander will fight dirty. Is Superman stronger pound for pound? Probably. But is Homelander willing to murder Lois Lane and rip off Jimmy Olsen’s face and wear it as his own face? And you know, rip Krypto limb from limb? Homelander just doesn’t have the morality that Superman does and that’s a strong advantage.”

The event highlighted the diverse interpretations each actor has of their character, with some opting for serious matchups while others took a more humorous approach. It also underscored the overarching themes of ‘The Boys’, where power, morality, and chaos often outweigh mere strength.
