Philip J. Silvera Wants Daredevil to Team Up With Deadpool and Spider-Man
Philip J. Silvera, the action director for ‘Daredevil: Born Again’, has revealed the Marvel team-up he most desires to see in the future. In an interview with Forbes, Silvera expressed his hope for Daredevil, Deadpool, and Spider-Man to unite in an upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe project.
With a rich background in major action films, including ‘Daredevil’, ‘Deadpool’, ‘Terminator’, and ‘Halo’, Silvera shared his thoughts on the future of ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ and the characters he wishes to collaborate with, highlighting a particular comic book team that stands out to him.
During the discussion, Silvera touched on Marvel’s extensive array of heroes and villains. He noted that many characters related to Daredevil complement each other, as they often embody different aspects of similar themes and conflicts.
He mentioned the parallels between Daredevil and Bullseye, who possess similar skills but adhere to contrasting moral philosophies. Additionally, he discussed the complex relationship between Daredevil and Kingpin, emphasizing their shared commitment to New York City despite their divergent paths. The dynamic between Matt Murdock and Frank Castle, also known as the Punisher, was also highlighted.
When prompted about which characters he would like to see alongside Daredevil in future narratives, Silvera initially referenced characters from ‘The Defenders’ universe. However, he later revealed an even grander aspiration while sharing insights on what fans can anticipate from the series moving forward.
Silvera confirmed that Luke Cage makes a return at the end of ‘Daredevil: Born Again Season 2’ and expressed his enthusiasm for the direction Marvel is taking with its street-level heroes. He commended Marvel executives and producers for their ongoing efforts to develop these characters and their storylines.
Toward the end of the conversation, he brought up one of his favorite comic book teams.
“I got to be part of Deadpool, the first iteration with Tim Miller. I would love to see Daredevil and Deadpool together at some point because Team Red in the comics, with Spider-Man, is my favorite.”
For comic book enthusiasts, Team Red is a well-known trio consisting of Daredevil, Deadpool, and Spider-Man. This group has appeared together in Marvel comics multiple times, blending action, humor, and street-level superhero tales.
A crossover featuring these three characters would likely become one of Marvel’s most buzzed-about projects. Charlie Cox’s Daredevil is now firmly established in the MCU, while Deadpool has officially joined the franchise through ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’. Spider-Man, portrayed by Tom Holland, continues to be one of Marvel’s most prominent heroes.

Currently, Marvel has not disclosed any plans for a team-up featuring Daredevil, Deadpool, and Spider-Man. Nonetheless, Silvera’s remarks have already ignited excitement among fans eager to see this beloved trio on screen together.
Whether this collaboration occurs in ‘Daredevil: Born Again’, a Spider-Man film, or another MCU project, Silvera is clearly hopeful that Team Red will eventually transition from the comics to live action.
