First Trailer Released for ‘One Piece: Grand Gourmet’ Cooking Game as Fans Explore Pirate Cuisine
A new game set in the ‘One Piece’ universe is on the horizon, and this time, it’s not about battling pirates or navigating the Grand Line. Instead, players will have the opportunity to manage a restaurant in the world of ‘One Piece’ with the upcoming cooking and management game titled ‘One Piece: Grand Gourmet.’
The game was officially unveiled during a Nintendo Direct presentation, as reported by the event. It offers a unique adventure within the Straw Hat universe, emphasizing food, culinary skills, and restaurant management.
In ‘One Piece: Grand Gourmet,’ players will step into the shoes of a new staff member at the second branch of the renowned floating restaurant Baratie. The objective is to transform it into the most successful eatery on the seas, with assistance from Sanji and other members of the Straw Hat Crew.
Gameplay revolves around cooking and creativity. Players will gather ingredients, devise recipes, and prepare meals inspired by the ‘One Piece’ world. The game features special dishes based on characters and iconic items from the series, including Water-Water Meat BBQ, Sea King Penne Gorgonzola, and even meals inspired by Devil Fruit powers.
Customization is a significant aspect of the game. Players can decorate and design their restaurant using over 200 different furniture and decoration items, ranging from dessert-themed designs inspired by Whole Cake Island to futuristic styles based on Egghead Island. Additionally, the game incorporates a social element, where characters may become regular customers depending on the restaurant’s design.
One of the standout features is the extensive character roster. The announcement reveals that more than 400 characters from the ‘One Piece’ universe will be featured in the game, including members of the Straw Hat Crew and many other beloved figures. All characters are presented in a pixel-style design, providing a retro visual experience while remaining faithful to their original appearances.
According to the developers, the game is not solely focused on cooking but also emphasizes interaction and discovery. Players will encounter character events and unique moments that provide fresh perspectives on familiar characters outside the main storyline.
The game also promotes exploration and recipe discovery. As players advance, they will unlock new ingredients and create more intricate dishes, enhancing their menu and boosting their restaurant’s reputation across the seas.
‘One Piece: Grand Gourmet’ is set to launch on October 23. It will be available on Nintendo Switch, the upcoming Switch 2, and PC via Steam. This release will offer fans of the long-running anime and manga a completely new way to engage with the ‘One Piece’ world, focusing on culinary adventures rather than combat.
