Netflix’s ‘A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder’ Is Ending After Season 3
Netflix’s detective mystery series ‘A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder’ is officially concluding after its third season, despite the initial renewal for more episodes. This news was confirmed by Netflix and reported alongside insights from author Holly Jackson, who serves as both writer and executive producer on the series.
The show gained significant attention following the release of its second season earlier this year, focusing on Pip Fitz-Amobi, portrayed by Emma Myers, as she delves into dark crimes in the fictional town of Little Kilton. The series is based on the bestselling book trilogy by Holly Jackson.
Although Season 3 will mark the end of the series, the storyline is fully mapped out. Jackson expressed her excitement about concluding the series and mentioned that the final season will adapt the last book in the trilogy, ‘As Good as Dead’. She stated, “I am ecstatic that we are able to bring ‘A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder’ to its (bloody) conclusion. ‘As Good As Dead’ is my favorite of the book series and it’s by far my favorite season of the show too. You’ll see Pip as you’ve never seen her before. It’s dark, breathless, horrible and… somehow still manages to be funny. Come on back to Little Kilton for the final time…if you dare.”
Her comments suggest that the final season will delve into darker themes than previous installments. Pip’s journey will take a more intense turn as she confronts a perilous situation that challenges her like never before.
Netflix has also confirmed that filming for Season 3 has already wrapped up, with a release planned for 2027. Unlike the previous season, which consisted of six episodes, the final season will be shorter, featuring only four episodes. This decision indicates a more concise and focused conclusion to Pip’s narrative.
Emma Myers shared her thoughts on the series’ conclusion and her portrayal of Pip, stating, “I’m very happy that we get to bring everyone season 3 of ‘A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder’. Thank you so much to everyone who has given this show love and support throughout! This has truly been an incredible experience and Pip will be a character I will never forget. Book 3 is my favorite of all the books, so I’m very excited to show everyone what we’ve done. Get ready for a crazy time!”

The series is produced by Moonage Pictures in collaboration with BBC and features several executive producers, including Holly Jackson herself. Emma Myers leads the cast alongside Zain Iqbal, Henry Ashton, Asha Banks, Jude Morgan-Collie, Eden H Davies, and Yali Topol Margalith.
Season 2 followed Pip as she attempted to move on after solving a significant case but was drawn back into another mystery when a new disappearance altered everything. This storyline set the stage for the darker tone that will carry into the final season.
With filming completed and a clear narrative conclusion in sight, Season 3 is set to wrap up Pip’s journey when it premieres on Netflix in 2027.
