Jennifer Lopez Shines in Glam Looks During ‘Office Romance’ Press Tour
Jennifer Lopez has a knack for creating fashion moments, and her current Netflix press tour is no exception. The global superstar is promoting her much-anticipated return to romantic comedy, and each of her appearances is receiving the kind of scrutiny that only a celebrity of her stature can command.
‘Office Romance‘ is a playful rom-com centered on a secret office relationship and the ensuing chaos that two workaholics face when they follow their hearts. Now streaming on Netflix, the film is directed by Ol Parker and features a talented cast including Betty Gilpin, Amy Sedaris, Tony Hale, Bradley Whitford, and Edward James Olmos. Lopez is fully embracing the project, which is designed for a cultural moment.
A recent social media post showcases Lopez in a striking black-and-white houndstooth mini dress, thigh-high black boots, and chic amber-tinted aviator sunglasses, complemented by a structured black leather clutch with gold accents. This ensemble exudes CEO vibes, perfectly mirroring the powerful executive she portrays in the film. As expected, the internet had plenty of compliments to share.
The film follows Jackie Cruz (Lopez), the ambitious CEO of AirCruz, and Daniel Blanchflower (Goldstein), a company lawyer brought in to help the airline navigate a significant legal challenge. Daniel falls for Jackie at first sight, and Goldstein always envisioned Lopez for this role.
Goldstein co-wrote the script with his ‘Ted Lasso’ collaborator Joe Kelly, both of whom are fans of classic rom-coms. Upon receiving the script, Lopez expressed her excitement, saying, “I was a fan of his. People know that I’m obsessed with ‘Ted Lasso.’ When he sent the script, I was just like, ‘They wrote this for me?’ It was great.”
At the premiere of his film ‘All of You,’ Goldstein shared with Swooon that he had Lopez in mind for the lead role from the very beginning. This mutual admiration is the kind of behind-the-scenes chemistry that often translates beautifully on screen.
Lopez has made it clear that ‘Office Romance’ is not just a rehash of previous rom-coms. In an interview with Netflix Tudum, she described the film as “a very classic romantic comedy, but with these unexpected jokes,” noting, “It’s a little different from the other romantic comedies that I made, which are very sweet and wholesome.”
In a conversation with Refinery29, Lopez explained that Jackie Cruz represents a departure from her usual roles, as she typically plays the aspirational underdog. Jackie, on the other hand, is a successful Latina who has built her own company and is in charge, which was a significant draw for Lopez. She also praised the script’s adult humor and the male perspective that Goldstein and Kelly contributed, making it feel distinct from typical romantic comedies.
The film reunites Lopez with Edward James Olmos, who portrayed her father in the iconic 1997 film ‘Selena’ and will again play her father onscreen. This nostalgic casting choice has excited fans who grew up watching the original film.

‘Office Romance’ has already made a significant impact beyond the press tour. In just one day, it surged to the top of the Netflix charts, surpassing the animated film ‘David’ to become the No. 1 film in 65 territories worldwide, including the U.S. The rom-com has shown impressive results, maintaining strong rankings across major markets and continuing its momentum throughout its first week, proving that romantic comedies can still be major global events on Netflix.
Directed by BAFTA-nominated Ol Parker, known for his successful romantic projects, the film has elicited mixed audience reactions. Some viewers have praised the chemistry between Lopez and Goldstein, while others have found it predictable, filled with genre clichés. Regardless of opinions, Jennifer Lopez’s stunning appearances at press events, looking as if she stepped out of the film’s wardrobe department, are certainly fueling the conversation.
