Jesse Watters Critiques Milly Alcock’s Comments on Bisexuality in ‘Supergirl’
Jesse Watters has ignited an online discussion following his remarks on Milly Alcock’s recent comments regarding her character in ‘Supergirl’. During an episode of The Five, the Fox News host reacted to Alcock’s suggestion that Kara Zor-El might be attracted to multiple genders.
The conversation began when Alcock was asked about Supergirl’s sexuality at the film’s London premiere. As reported by AP News, the actress did not explicitly confirm the character’s LGBTQ+ status but provided an open-ended response about the possibilities.
“I don’t know. I think that what makes this film so beautiful is that it’s not centered around a man, it’s not centered around love at all … But, we’ll see. I don’t really know. She’d probably go both ways,” Alcock stated.
Her statement quickly captured online attention, prompting fans to speculate about its implications for the character’s future. However, Jesse Watters criticized the notion during Thursday’s episode of The Five.
Watters questioned whether audiences would embrace a bisexual version of Supergirl, suggesting that this choice could negatively impact the film’s success. He claimed that many viewers might not be inclined to watch the movie due to the character’s potential sexuality.
“No man will ever see this movie,” Watters asserted while discussing the upcoming DC Universe release. He added, “And most women won’t see it. The ones that do, there’s just not enough of them to make money from the movie, if you know what I mean.”
The Fox News host continued to express his views on bisexual women, stating, “But the whole bisexual thing … guys don’t get into that. Maybe that’s cool when you’re 18, but when a girl’s bisexual, we don’t trust her. We don’t trust her. And the ones I’ve met are super weird. So to say you’re bisexual, it’s not a turn on. It’s not a turn on.”
Following the segment, clips of Watters’ remarks circulated widely on social media, eliciting strong reactions from users. Many critics argued that his comments focused excessively on male perspectives regarding bisexuality, rather than acknowledging personal identity and representation.
One user questioned, “Does he think people are bisexual for the arousal of others?” Another remarked, “Ah yes, the reason why women identify a certain way. Because it’s a turn on for Jesse Watters.”

Others countered Watters’ assertions, with one commenter stating, “Watters is babbling about something he knows nothing about. Sorry to say, guys ARE into it.”
While the discourse surrounding Supergirl’s sexuality has become a significant topic, Milly Alcock has not definitively confirmed that her portrayal of Kara Zor-El is bisexual. Her comments seemed to indicate that the character’s narrative may focus less on romance or labels and more on her personal journey.
‘Supergirl’, directed by Craig Gillespie and featuring Alcock in the lead role, is set to hit theaters on June 26. This film is part of DC Studios’ new cinematic universe and follows the character after her introduction in Superman.
