This latest chapter continues the narrative based on the bestselling ‘Silo’ book trilogy by Hugh Howey. The series chronicles the lives of thousands residing deep underground in a massive silo, where they are led to believe that the outside world is perilous and uninhabitable.

Season 3 will follow Juliette Nichols, portrayed by Rebecca Ferguson, after the shocking events of the previous season. The official synopsis reveals that Juliette survives her forced “cleaning” but returns with memory issues as the silo grapples with the aftermath of a rebellion and confronts a new, dangerous threat.

The season will also delve into historical events, introducing a storyline set hundreds of years in the past. Journalist Helen Drew, played by Jessica Henwick, and Congressman Daniel Keene, portrayed by Ashley Zukerman, uncover a conspiracy that could alter everything.

Critics who have previewed the new episodes believe the series is embarking on an exciting new path. Felipe Rangel from Screen Rant rated the season an 8/10, noting that Season 3 feels distinct from the first two seasons, but in a positive manner. Rangel suggests that the new episodes usher in a new era for the series.

Katie Doll from CBR awarded the season a perfect 10/10, praising it as “everything a show of this genre was meant to be.”

Collider critic Tania Hussain also shared high praise, giving the season a 9/10 rating and describing it as “thoughtful, gripping, and beautifully made,” while asserting that it elevates the standard for modern prestige science fiction.

One of the most enthusiastic responses came from Joonatan Itkonen of Region Free, who rated the season a perfect 5/5. The critic emphasized the final episodes, stating “the final two episodes of the season are some of the most intense and brilliant TV I’ve seen all year.” Itkonen also characterized ‘Silo’ as one of the most impressive and entertaining shows on television.

Chris Evangelista from Slashfilm gave the season a 7/10 rating but encouraged viewers to catch up before the story reaches its conclusion, noting that there has never been a better time to start watching.

Season 3 will once again consist of 10 episodes, following the same format as the previous seasons. New episodes will be released weekly on Apple TV+, providing fans ample opportunity to discuss the latest mysteries and theories.

With the series already recognized as one of Apple TV+’s major science fiction successes alongside titles like ‘Severance’ and ‘For All Mankind’, the early reactions indicate that ‘Silo’ Season 3 could be its most significant chapter yet.
