Charlie Cox and Elodie Yung Reunite on Set for ‘Daredevil Born Again’ Season 3
Marvel’s New York-based street-level corner of the MCU is evolving into a massive Netflix reunion, and ‘Daredevil, Born Again’ Season 3 is adding exciting new elements to this narrative. What began as a modest revival featuring Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio has gradually expanded into a much larger venture.
Season 3 picks up with Matt Murdock in a challenging situation, having ended the previous season disbarred and imprisoned after revealing his secret identity in court to save Karen Page and expose Wilson Fisk. With the lead character literally behind bars, the new season has relied heavily on its supporting cast, which has been growing in unexpected ways for longtime fans.
The latest addition to this reunion is significant. New set footage has captured Charlie Cox and Elodie Yung together in costume as Daredevil and Elektra, marking the first confirmed sighting of the two characters sharing a scene since Yung’s return to the role was announced just over a week ago.
Yung’s return as Elektra Natchios ends nearly a decade of uncertainty surrounding the character, who was last seen presumed dead alongside Matt when a building collapsed on them during the climax of ‘The Defenders.’ Her comeback had been rumored for months, partly fueled by cryptic workout videos Yung shared earlier this year that fans eagerly analyzed for clues.
Her new costume combines elements from her previous Netflix appearances into a more polished look, replacing the face-covering bandana she wore as an assassin with one worn openly around her head, complemented by a deeper red color scheme than her original suit. This subtle nod towards a more comic-accurate direction maintains the grounded style that has characterized the franchise since its Netflix debut.
Cox has also revealed a new look for Season 3, sporting a red and black suit inspired by one of Matt Murdock’s more armored comic costumes instead of a direct continuation of his prior Netflix or Disney Plus outfits. Given that Matt spends a significant portion of the season’s opening in prison, this new suit likely indicates a meaningful shift in how and when Daredevil operates this time around.
Elektra’s reappearance adds to a growing list of Netflix-era characters returning, with Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones, Mike Colter’s Luke Cage, and Finn Jones’ Danny Rand all confirmed to join in a full Defenders reunion. Including Elektra in this lineup could make Season 3 the most comprehensive gathering of the old Netflix Marvel cast in a single season.

This expanding ensemble raises intriguing questions about the storyline’s direction, especially with Matt sidelined in prison for part of the season. Cox has hinted that someone else may need to step up to protect the city in Daredevil’s absence, and Elektra’s comic history as a potential successor to the mantle has only fueled speculation about her role’s significance.
Production on Season 3 began in March, with showrunner Dario Scardapane confirming that filming is expected to conclude in early July. This new footage arrives just as the shoot approaches its final stretch. Marvel has yet to officially comment on any of the season’s casting announcements, leaving fans to piece together the story through leaked set photos and videos.
With Vincent D’Onofrio also confirmed to return as a Kingpin who is reportedly more dangerous than ever, and Wilson Bethel’s Bullseye still lurking in the background, Season 3 is shaping up to be the most densely packed chapter that ‘Born Again’ has attempted yet. Whether all these elements will come together seamlessly remains to be seen once the season eventually arrives on Disney Plus.
