‘Dutton Ranch’ Season Finale Sneak Peek Reveals Rip’s Fierce Defense of Beth
The season finale of Dutton Ranch is scheduled to air on July 3, promising an abundance of drama, tension, and intense confrontations. A newly released sneak peek from the episode hints at a heated moment that quickly escalates into a violent clash involving Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler.
In the clip, Beth Dutton, portrayed by Kelly Reilly, storms into the 10 Petal Ranch slaughterhouse, owned by Beulah Jackson, played by Annette Bening. Once inside, she immediately confronts Denise, the office manager, who is merely trying to do her job. The scene showcases Beth’s signature chaos as she refuses to back down when she feels disrespected.
Things escalate further when Tommy, played by James Eddie, intervenes. Instead of calming the situation, he grabs Beth in an attempt to escort her out, a decision that proves to be a grave mistake.
Rip Wheeler, played by Cole Hauser, is nearby and quickly reacts. He steps in to defend Beth, delivering a brutal beatdown to Tommy. This moment is brief yet intense, highlighting Rip’s protective and explosive nature.
The series has deeply explored Beth and Rip’s relationship since its inception in Yellowstone, and this new spin-off continues to emphasize that connection. Their dynamic remains a central emotional anchor of the story, even as the show expands into new territory with the 10 Petal Ranch setting and additional characters.
Earlier this season, Dutton Ranch was renewed for a second season, with a change in showrunner announced. The current season has followed Beth and Rip as they relocate to Texas with their adopted son Carter, played by Finn Little, becoming embroiled in the business and power struggles surrounding the ranch.
In a previous interview with Variety, Kelly Reilly discussed her long-standing on-screen chemistry with Cole Hauser and how it has influenced Beth and Rip’s relationship over the years. She noted that their connection developed naturally from the beginning.
“I don’t think chemistry is something you create: You either have or you don’t,” Reilly stated. “When we were first cast in ‘Yellowstone,’ Taylor Sheridan had seen something in us individually and together that he thought would work. But the relationship and the vibe they have together has been one of my most favorite things about playing Beth.”
She also mentioned that their connection continues to resonate on screen due to their real-life friendship and mutual respect. “We’re great friends in real life, and we take care of each other,” she added.
The finale episode is poised to bring all these dynamics to a head, merging personal loyalty, territorial conflict, and Beth’s unpredictable nature. With Rip stepping in once again to protect her, the show reinforces the intense bond between the two characters.

Variety, which shared the exclusive clip, notes that the finale will conclude a season centered on Beth, Rip, and Carter as they adapt to their new life and navigate the escalating tensions at the ranch.
With action, conflict, and emotional stakes all building toward the final episode, Dutton Ranch appears ready to conclude its season with yet another explosive chapter.
