‘Fast & Furious 11’ Begins Filming Vin Diesel Promises Amazing Finale in New Video
Vin Diesel recently announced on Instagram that filming has officially commenced for the next and final installment in the ‘Fast & Furious’ franchise, often referred to as Fast & Furious 11 or Fast Forever. This update follows a lengthy pause after the release of Fast X in 2023.
Since its inception in 2001, the franchise has evolved into one of the largest action series in cinematic history, featuring ten main films and several spin-offs. Vin Diesel has portrayed Dominic Toretto throughout the series, solidifying his role as the heart of the narrative.
In the set video, Diesel confirmed that production is officially underway. The footage features him on set in what looks like a garage, with a black muscle car in the background that many fans speculate might be Dom’s iconic 1970 Dodge Charger, a vehicle synonymous with his character.
In the video, Diesel addresses fans in a sincere tone, thanking them for their patience during the lengthy development phase. He hinted that the film will serve as a concluding chapter for the main storyline, describing it as an “amazing finale” and expressing gratitude for the audience’s support over the years.
This filming update signifies that the project is progressing after several delays. Since the release of Fast X, the franchise’s future has been somewhat uncertain due to scheduling conflicts and industry holdups. With cameras now rolling, the film is back on track.
The upcoming movie is currently slated for a 2028 release and is expected to pick up where Fast X left off. The previous installment concluded with Jason Momoa’s character Dante still alive and posing a significant threat, alongside surprise returns from characters like Hobbs and Gisele, paving the way for more familiar faces in this final chapter.

While full plot details remain under wraps, it’s anticipated that long-time cast members such as Tyrese Gibson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Ludacris, and Sung Kang may reprise their roles. Other actors from recent films could also make appearances, depending on the narrative direction.
Louis Leterrier, who directed Fast X, will helm this final film. Diesel has hinted that the movie will return to its roots, emphasizing street racing and practical car stunts reminiscent of the earlier films in the series. There are also plans to bring the storyline back to Los Angeles, the setting of the original film.
Although Diesel’s video did not disclose any major plot spoilers, it did confirm the film’s emotional tone, framing it as a closing chapter for a franchise that has spanned over two decades.
With filming officially underway, fans can expect more updates in the coming months as production progresses. The combination of returning characters, a conclusive storyline, and a lengthy production gap has made this one of the most eagerly awaited films in the action genre.
