Keanu Reeves has shared intriguing details about his upcoming movie project, which promises to be a unique experience for fans. The actor is collaborating with director Tim Miller on a new Warner Bros. sci-fi adventure that combines elements of time loops with the peril of oceanic threats.

In an interview with Collider’s Steven Weintraub while promoting the docuseries Hooligans: The ARCH Racing Project, Reeves provided a brief yet thrilling glimpse into the film’s premise.

“Sharks. Time machine. Groundhog Day,” he stated when asked about the project. When Weintraub expressed enthusiasm for the idea, Reeves simply replied, “Yeah, man!”

This description has sparked significant interest, hinting at a film that merges the time-loop narrative of Groundhog Day with a gripping shark survival story. Although Reeves kept major plot details under wraps, the fusion of time travel and oceanic danger has already piqued curiosity.

Directed by Tim Miller, known for Deadpool and Terminator: Dark Fate, this project marks Reeves’ return to original action films since the John Wick series, making it one of his most anticipated upcoming roles.

Reeves humorously noted that the film will feature plenty of aquatic action and potentially dangerous shark encounters. “And getting eaten by sharks,” he quipped when asked about the film’s water-related elements.

These insights came while Reeves was discussing a different passion project: motorcycles. He and Gard Hollinger, his longtime business partner and co-founder of ARCH Motorcycle, are featured in Samsung TV Plus’ six-part docuseries Hooligans: The ARCH Racing Project. The series chronicles their journey as they transform custom-built motorcycles into racing machines and compete in professional motorcycle racing.

In the Collider interview, Reeves and Hollinger discussed their venture into the racing world and the warm reception they received from fans. Reeves expressed gratitude for the unexpected support from the motorcycle community.

“Really, fans of the brand, fans of ARCH Motorcycle, we really felt so much support from everyone at the racetrack,” Reeves shared. “It was so cool that you guys are here. A new American team, trying to do what you’re doing.”

Reeves also reflected on the fun he has had with ARCH and joked about his long beard during the series’ filming, likening it to David Letterman’s famous beard after his late-night show.

“When you finish a film, sometimes you just want to let it go. You don’t want to shave. You don’t want to do anything,” he remarked.

While specifics about his shark-infused time travel film remain scarce, it already appears to be another intriguing addition to Reeves’ diverse portfolio. After years of embodying action heroes, the actor seems ready to delve into another ambitious sci-fi narrative.

In the meantime, fans can catch a different side of Reeves in Hooligans: The ARCH Racing Project, which premieres on Samsung TV Plus on July 12.
