Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’ is just days away from its full review release, yet prediction markets are already indicating another significant critical success for the acclaimed director. With the review embargo now lifting, traders are expressing strong confidence that Nolan’s latest epic will achieve one of the year’s highest Rotten Tomatoes scores.

Polymarket, a leading prediction platform, suggests a very good chance that the film will score above 90% on Rotten Tomatoes. The market indicates a 99% likelihood that the movie will earn at least 80%, an 82% chance of reaching 90% or higher, and a 34% chance of exceeding 95%. These figures imply that many traders anticipate ‘The Odyssey’ will land somewhere in the low-to-mid 90s, with a score above 93% increasingly likely.

Much of this optimism stems from the initial reactions shared by critics after the social media embargo was lifted. Although full reviews remain under embargo, several journalists who attended early screenings have praised Nolan’s latest film.

Variety senior artisans editor Jazz Tangcay commended the adaptation and the creative team’s efforts. She highlighted Hoyte van Hoytema’s cinematography and Ludwig Göransson’s score, stating, “You could feel the passion in his storytelling. You feel the passion in the crafts and the acting.”

Fandango and Rotten Tomatoes contributor Erik Davis echoed this enthusiasm, describing the film as “an absolute triumph” and “a crowning cinematic achievement from one of the great filmmakers of our time.” He also praised its production design, action sequences, and grand scale.

Den of Geek journalist David Crow remarked that the film adeptly tackles the challenging task of adapting Homer’s epic into a three-hour movie. He noted that it brings “more heart than any Nolan film since Interstellar.”

Discussing Film managing editor Andrew J. Salazar also highlighted Samantha Morton’s performance as Circe, calling it “perhaps the best of the entire film and we’re going to be talking about it for years to come. If you know, you know.”

‘The Odyssey’ adapts Homer’s renowned epic poem, following King Odysseus, portrayed by Matt Damon, as he strives to return home to Ithaca after the Trojan War. Throughout his journey, he confronts legendary threats including the Cyclops, the Sirens, and the Laestrygonians.

Nolan has previously expressed his long-standing desire to bring this story to the screen. In a Time interview, he shared that he spent years contemplating even the smallest details of the adaptation. Regarding the famous Trojan Horse sequence, Nolan remarked, “If the horse were sinking into the sand and about to be swept away by the tide, the Trojans would never believe there could be anybody in there. They would be rescuing this thing from the waves and dragging it into the city as a prize. It wouldn’t be on wheels, like a roller skate.”

With the review embargo now lifted and critics gearing up to publish their full reviews, it won’t be long before prediction markets are tested against actual Rotten Tomatoes scores. For the moment, both Kalshi and Polymarket point to the same conclusion: Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’ is anticipated to become one of the best-reviewed movies of 2026.
