Christopher Nolan’s marketing campaign has been in full swing for weeks, but nothing showcased the excitement surrounding ‘The Odyssey’ quite like the appearance of its leading ladies in New York City this week. After stops in London and Paris, the film’s final press tour destination brought together the star-studded women under one marquee, creating one of the most talked-about red carpet moments of the summer.

The premiere took place at the AMC Lincoln Square Theater on July 14, the only venue in the city equipped to screen the film in IMAX 70mm, the format Nolan used for much of the movie. With the theatrical release just days away on July 17, the premiere was a significant promotional event before audiences could finally experience the adaptation of Homer’s ancient poem.

What truly stole the show was the lineup of Anne Hathaway, Lupita Nyong’o, Charlize Theron, Zendaya, and Samantha Morton posing together on the carpet, each embracing the film’s Grecian and mythological themes. This moment capped off a fashion-heavy press tour that had already made waves in London and Paris, but the New York stop showcased the five actresses in arguably their most cohesive group appearance yet.

Zendaya led the charge in a breathtaking white strapless gown by the avant-garde label Matières Fécales, featuring large feathered wings sculpted onto the back and a thigh-high slit that added drama to every step. The dress was particularly fitting for her role as the goddess Athena, following a version of the same design that first appeared on the brand’s runway during its Fall 2025 show in Paris.

Anne Hathaway, who portrays Penelope and is currently pregnant with her third child, radiated in a halter gown featuring a sparkling silver crisscross bodice paired with a flowing, pleated silk skirt, all designed by Prada. She completed her look with jewelry from Bulgari, continuing a maternity red carpet run that has garnered praise throughout the film’s international rollout.

Lupita Nyong’o, who takes on the dual roles of Helen of Troy and her sister Clytemnestra in the film, chose a strapless gold lace gown from Nicholas Oakwell Couture, sculpted over a built-in corset for maximum shine. She completed her look with a matching gold choker and heels, creating a showstopping presence befitting the woman whose face famously launched a thousand ships.

Charlize Theron, portraying the sea nymph Calypso, opted for a different approach with a white blazer-inspired mini dress from Dior, featuring a plunging neckline and sculptural bow detailing at the waist. This custom design echoed a look from the house’s Spring 2026 Haute Couture collection, paired with Tiffany and Co jewelry, including a diamond and gold choker necklace.

Completing the group was Samantha Morton, who plays the sorceress Circe and chose a Margiela dress paired with matching shoes and jewelry from Leviev Diamonds. True to her reputation for trend-defying, theatrical style choices, Morton’s look stood apart from her co-stars’ more overtly Grecian silhouettes while still fitting seamlessly into the evening’s overall aesthetic.

The New York stop concluded what has been a whirlwind, fashion-forward press tour for the film’s ensemble, with the cast showcasing custom pieces from Chanel, Givenchy, Schiaparelli, Louis Vuitton, and more across London and Paris in the weeks leading up to the release. Each stop embraced the same water, earth, and mythological motifs that reflect the film’s ancient source material, transforming the promotional run into a cultural moment.

With reviews for ‘The Odyssey’ set to be released soon and its theatrical debut just days away, the New York premiere served as a fitting finale for a press tour that has been closely observed for its fashion as much as for the film itself. Which look from the NYC premiere was your favorite, and do you think the cast’s Grecian styling has you even more excited for the movie? Let us know in the comments.
