New ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ LEGO Quinjet Leak Reveals Doctor Doom, Captain America, and More
The journey to ‘Avengers: Doomsday‘ has become a thrilling scavenger hunt for fans, with toy leaks providing more insights than the official marketing has thus far. From blurry box images to minifigure parts appearing online, LEGO has emerged as a surprisingly reliable source of information about a film that Marvel Studios has kept under wraps.
Much of the mystery has revolved around Robert Downey Jr’s portrayal of Doctor Doom, whose appearance has been largely inferred through toy leaks rather than official studio announcements. Despite the release of four short teaser trailers, the character has had minimal screen time, leaving fans to rely on LEGO minifigures to fill in the gaps that Marvel’s marketing has left open.
A recent leak suggests that a new Avengers Quinjet LEGO set connected to the film is on the way, featuring minifigures of Doctor Doom, Captain America, a shirtless version of The Thing, and Cyclops. This lineup introduces two new characters to a set that had already been generating excitement under a different working title in previous reports.
Previous reports from LEGO insiders had already hinted at a Quinjet set featuring Doctor Doom alongside a Captain America minifigure, with some sources describing that figure as a HYDRA variant of Steve Rogers. This detail has sparked speculation about a villainous group known as the Dark Avengers, potentially led by a corrupted version of Captain America based on the comics’ Secret Empire storyline.
The inclusion of The Thing and Cyclops in this latest reported lineup significantly expands the character roster. Combining a member of the Fantastic Four with an X-Men character, alongside Doctor Doom and Captain America, aligns perfectly with the crossover-heavy nature of ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, which is anticipated to unite heroes from various corners of the franchise to confront a singular, unprecedented threat.
It’s important to note that earlier reports regarding this Quinjet set cautioned that some details might have been misinterpreted, suggesting that the Captain America figure could actually represent Wyatt Russell’s U.S. Agent as part of a more straightforward New Avengers lineup rather than a HYDRA variant. Even the insiders behind these leaks have acknowledged that LEGO sets do not always perfectly align with the final film.
Nevertheless, the sources behind these reports have established a fairly reliable track record, and this latest wave of merchandise leaks continues to sketch a film featuring a vast, genre-spanning cast of heroes and villains. Coupled with previously leaked sets centered around a Sentinel battle and an X-Mansion confrontation, the toy aisle has gradually pieced together what appears to be a rough outline of the film’s major set pieces long before Marvel is prepared to confirm any of it.
With San Diego Comic-Con on the horizon, Marvel Studios is expected to finally unveil more details about the film, meaning fans may soon have less need to depend on toy leaks. ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ is set to premiere in theaters on December 18.
