Marvel Studios has been building excitement for the next chapter of its Multiverse Saga, and this week, the anticipation has intensified. With San Diego Comic Con approaching and a trailer expected soon, theaters nationwide have begun gearing up for one of the year’s most significant release dates.

Fans have noticed this early preparation, with screenshots surfacing online showing theaters like Marcus Elgin Cinema listing placeholder showtimes for ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ in their apps, including premium format options, well before tickets officially go on sale. This behind-the-scenes activity typically goes unnoticed, but this time, observant fans caught it ahead of the official announcement.

The real news is set to unfold on Monday when premium format seats for ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ will be available for purchase starting July 20. This includes Infinity Vision theaters, a new large format designation created by Disney specifically for this film, allowing tickets to be sold a full five months before the movie’s release.

The Infinity Vision brand has an intriguing backstory. Disney developed this format after Warner Bros secured IMAX theaters for Denis Villeneuve’s ‘Dune Part Three’ for three weeks following the shared premiere date of both films on December 18. Disney is positioning Infinity Vision as a competitive response, ensuring that they maintain a presence in the premium format conversation against a rival studio’s release.

In addition to the ticket news, fans have been eagerly awaiting the film’s runtime, which has been confirmed at 165 minutes, or two hours and 45 minutes. This runtime is longer than 2018’s ‘Infinity War’ at 149 minutes but shorter than 2019’s ‘Endgame’ at 181 minutes. While the final cut isn’t locked yet, selling tickets on a fixed schedule means the runtime can only adjust slightly.

This timing is no accident. Kevin Feige is scheduled to host the MCU panel in Hall H at San Diego Comic Con on Saturday, July 25, with ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ expected to be a major highlight of the presentation. This upcoming week promises a flurry of activity, with tickets going on sale Monday, the Hall H panel on Saturday, and a trailer likely to follow soon after, providing fans with a wealth of new information.

Disney is also taking this opportunity to promote Infinity Vision tickets for a theatrical re-release of ‘Avengers: Endgame’, titled ‘Avengers Endgame Encore’, set to arrive on September 25 with a custom introduction, additional footage, and a post-credits scene that connects directly to ‘Doomsday’. With the runtime reveal, early ticket sales, and theaters already preparing showtimes, Marvel’s marketing machine is fully operational as it heads toward one of its most significant releases yet.
