Nicholas Galitzine has spent the past year establishing himself as one of Hollywood’s most dedicated physical performers, trading his rom-com charm for intense sword drills and full-contact choreography. His transformation into He-Man for ‘Masters of the Universe’ has been well documented through gym photos, red carpet interviews, and behind-the-scenes featurettes leading up to the film’s premiere.

Despite this, the actor’s commitment continues to surface in new ways, with fans consistently unearthing fresh clips that showcase just how hands-on his approach really was. Recently, a short training clip has been making waves on social media, sparking a new wave of appreciation.

In a green screen video, Galitzine is seen engaged in a fast-paced fight sequence, throwing and dodging punches against another performer on a padded soundstage designed for visual effects. The accompanying caption praised him directly, highlighting that Galitzine performed his own fight scenes and as many stunts as he was permitted, dubbing him a true action star.

This kind of reaction aligns perfectly with everything Galitzine has publicly shared about his preparation for the role. During Fandango’s Big Ticket interview, he described periods of fasting for 18 hours followed by a three-hour weight session, immediately transitioning into stunt work, which he said tested his resolve. He characterized the process as a complete transformation, revealing that he was neither physically nor emotionally prepared when he began.

In another discussion with SFX magazine, Galitzine elaborated on the intensity of his daily routine once production ramped up. He mentioned that his pre-production schedule included approximately three hours in the gym and two hours of dedicated stunt training each day, in addition to several more hours spent in hair, makeup, and costume fittings. He summed up the entire experience simply, stating it was a life.

Much of that stunt training reportedly focused on mastering the Sword of Power convincingly on camera. Galitzine explained that the production experimented with about a dozen different versions of the weapon during rehearsals, continually adjusting its balance so he could wield it as if it were weightless, despite the physical strain it imposed on his forearms. This level of detail underscores the seriousness with which the choreography was approached behind the scenes, far beyond what typically gets highlighted in trailers or press junket soundbites.

Galitzine has also expressed a desire to earn the respect of his own stunt double throughout filming, wanting to prove himself rather than simply relying on someone else for the physically demanding sequences. This mentality seems to resonate with fans, as many commenters are framing the resurfaced footage as evidence that his effort was never just for show.

His physical commitment has become a key talking point for ‘Masters of the Universe’ since its release, contributing to a broader appreciation for the film’s practical and grounded approach to action. For a franchise centered around a character known as the most powerful man in the universe, having an actor willing to throw real punches on a rigged soundstage has clearly struck a chord with audiences seeking authenticity in their blockbusters.

Whether more unseen training footage or deleted stunt sequences will eventually emerge remains to be seen, but for now, this latest clip has given fans another reason to appreciate the hard work that went into crafting Eternia’s hero from the ground up.
