‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Surpasses ‘Titanic,’ ‘Infinity War,’ and ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ Domestic Totals
‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day‘ continues to make waves at the box office, rewriting history with every passing day of its release. Eleven days into its theatrical run, the film shows no signs of slowing down. Sony and Marvel’s latest installment featuring Tom Holland has already achieved the biggest opening weekend ever, the fastest ascent to $1 billion globally, and the third-largest sophomore weekend in box office history, raking in $145 million in its second frame.
This impressive momentum has propelled the film into historic territory on the domestic charts. As reported by Box Office Mojo, ‘Brand New Day’ has reached an estimated $671.2 million in domestic earnings as of Tuesday, adding nearly $17 million on its second Monday—marking the highest non-holiday second Monday total ever recorded, despite a significant 63.9 percent drop from the previous Monday.
This remarkable figure has allowed ‘Brand New Day’ to surpass the entire domestic runs of three cinematic giants: ‘Titanic,’ which earned $674.4 million; ‘Avengers: Infinity War,’ with $678.8 million; and ‘Avatar: The Way of Water,’ totaling over $684 million, according to Box Office Mojo. This achievement positions ‘Brand New Day’ as the seventh highest-grossing film of all time in the domestic market, placing it among some of cinema’s most iconic blockbusters after just under two weeks in theaters.
With projections for Wednesday indicating that the film will surpass $700 million, it will join the ranks of just four Marvel Cinematic Universe titles to achieve this milestone: ‘Avengers: Endgame’ at $858.3 million, ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ at $814.8 million, and ‘Black Panther’ at $700.4 million, as noted by Deadline.
What makes this achievement particularly noteworthy is how consistently ‘Brand New Day’ has widened its lead over ‘Avengers: Endgame’ at similar points in their respective releases. Currently, the film is approximately $38 million ahead of ‘Endgame’ at the same stage, a significant increase from the $3 million lead it held after its opening weekend.
This trajectory has sparked discussions about ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens,’ which has held the all-time North American box office record with $936.6 million since 2015. With $900 million now virtually assured, industry analysts are divided on whether ‘Brand New Day’ could ultimately exceed the billion-dollar mark domestically, positioning it to challenge a record many believed was unbreakable.

The film’s success extends beyond its individual achievements, as it currently leads this summer’s box office with $671.3 million, significantly ahead of ‘Toy Story 5’ at $470.7 million and ‘The Odyssey’ at $461.4 million. This success has contributed to the 2026 summer season surpassing $4 billion in total ticket sales for the first time since before the pandemic.
Globally, ‘Brand New Day’ has already reached $1.67 billion, ranking twelfth all time worldwide, and has become the second-fastest film to cross the $1 billion mark internationally, trailing only ‘Endgame.’ With $800 million domestically potentially within reach by this weekend or shortly thereafter, ‘Brand New Day’ appears poised to continue its ascent in the all-time box office rankings.
