‘Lioness’ Star LaMonica Garrett Proposes a Spinoff for the QRF Team
Taylor Sheridan’s television universe is known for its intricate, expansive ensembles, and ‘Lioness’ is no different. While Zoe Saldaña’s Joe serves as the show’s focal point, the Quick Reaction Force team surrounding her has emerged as one of the series’ most intriguing aspects, especially as Season 3 has brought these characters into greater focus.
This shift is particularly evident for LaMonica Garrett, who portrays QRF operative Tucker. This season marks a significant change as his character steps away from his usual teammates, Tex, Randy, and Two Cups, to collaborate more closely with Joe, Bobby, Cruz, and Josie. Garrett has noted that this change has infused Tucker with a distinctly different energy compared to earlier seasons.
This evolving dynamic has prompted Garrett to think about the broader potential for these characters. In an exclusive interview with ScreenRant’s Liam Crowley, the actor suggested the idea of a possible ‘Lioness’ spinoff centered entirely around the QRF, following the team on missions that extend beyond the main Lioness program’s jurisdiction.
“I’d like to dig into more layers, not just for Tucker, but for the QRF as a whole,” Garrett expressed. “I’d want to know more about Two Cups. Each of these guys and Bobby have a different fingerprint, and I think QRF as a whole would be fun to explore more into their background,” he shared with ScreenRant.
This pitch is logical considering how little of the QRF’s personal lives have been depicted on screen thus far. Aside from the revelation that Bobby’s Tracer, played by Max Martini, is an ex, very little has been disclosed about these characters’ lives outside of their missions, despite each having faced life-threatening situations throughout the series, including the intense Season 2 finale’s firefight in Iran that left Tucker, Two Cups, and Tex injured.

Garrett’s relationship with Sheridan is well-established, having previously starred as Thomas in ‘1883’ before joining ‘Lioness’ as Tucker. This connection places him in a favorable position to propose future projects, especially given Sheridan’s trend of expanding his other properties into spinoffs like ‘1923’, ‘Marshals’, and ‘Dutton Ranch’.
Whether a QRF-focused spinoff will ever materialize remains uncertain, with no official confirmation from Sheridan or Paramount+ regarding any specific plans. However, considering the strong ensemble Sheridan has crafted around Joe, and with ‘Lioness’ Season 3 currently boasting an 85 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes, the desire to explore this segment of the show’s universe seems plausible.
For now, fans will have to enjoy watching Tucker, Two Cups, Bobby, and the rest of the team as Season 3 unfolds on Paramount+.
