Sydney Sweeney has spent much of the past year building impressive box office momentum without one crucial element that most A-list stars depend on: an agent. The ‘Euphoria’ actress had been navigating her career without acting representation since late 2025, a situation that raised eyebrows throughout Hollywood even as her star continued to rise.

This period coincided with a significant change in her professional landscape. Sweeney’s longtime agent, Jennifer Millar, transitioned from Paradigm Talent Agency to become a manager at Brillstein Entertainment Partners, taking Sweeney along in that management role while Paradigm continued to manage brand and endorsement deals in the meantime.

Now, that gap has finally been filled. Sweeney has officially signed with Creative Artists Agency, marking the end of her agentless phase and aligning herself with one of the most influential talent agencies in the business. This move comes on the heels of the box office success of ‘The Housemaid,’ which has grossed $400.5 million globally.

On the surface, this appears to be a straightforward career advancement. However, according to Puck’s Matthew Belloni, the journey to this signing was not as straightforward as it seems, involving someone who is not technically part of Sweeney’s professional team.

Belloni reported that Scooter Braun, Sweeney’s boyfriend and the former music executive known for working with stars like Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande, played a direct role in the process. Citing five different sources, the Puck report indicates that Braun bypassed Millar to arrange a dinner between Sweeney and CAA’s Kevin Huvane, a meeting that reportedly led directly to her signing with the agency over other contenders who were also vying for a similar meeting.

Braun declined to comment on the report, while another source informed Puck that Millar and her producing partner were already aware of CAA’s interest in Sweeney through previous meetings and did not feel it necessary to be included in that particular dinner. Regardless, this incident has sparked a larger narrative about Braun’s increasing involvement in shaping Sweeney’s career decisions.

This involvement reportedly extends beyond just agency representation. Sweeney is said to have parted ways with her longtime publicity team as Braun takes on a more significant role in her daily decision-making, with some reports suggesting he has also encouraged her to pursue endorsement partnerships linked to companies he is associated with.

The romance between Braun and Sweeney has been closely followed since it first emerged after the widely publicized Bezos-Sánchez wedding in Venice, eventually becoming public through a series of Instagram posts. Their relationship has drawn considerable commentary due to Braun’s controversial reputation in the industry and Sweeney’s own high-profile array of brand deals and controversies over the past year.

Sweeney has also been expanding her horizons beyond acting during this time. Her production company is producing films under a first-look deal with Sony Pictures, with credits including ‘Anyone But You,’ the ‘Housemaid’ franchise, and the recently completed ‘Custom of the Country.’

Whether Braun’s increasing influence in her business dealings becomes a more prominent story in the future will likely depend on how her upcoming projects unfold. For now, the CAA signing stands as clear evidence that Sweeney’s inner circle has transformed significantly over the past year, with her personal and professional lives becoming more intertwined.

CAA, in the meantime, continues to expand its roster of sought-after talent, with Sweeney joining recent additions like Michelle Rodriguez and Macaulay Culkin. This is a notable achievement for the agency, regardless of how the deal was orchestrated behind the scenes.
