Alan Ritchson’s ‘Reacher’ Continues to Dominate as the Biggest Action Show
Streaming success stories come and go, but few franchises have maintained their dominance like Prime Video’s ‘Reacher’ since its debut. What began as a sleeper hit adaptation of Lee Child’s beloved novels has evolved into one of the platform’s most consistent global performers.
This consistency has become the show’s hallmark, with each new season surpassing expectations instead of merely relying on the success of its predecessors. Alan Ritchson’s commanding portrayal of the title character has only gained popularity over time, solidifying his status as one of streaming’s most bankable action stars.
Now, Season 4 has elevated that momentum to new heights. The latest installment has secured the number one position on Prime Video’s global Top 10 chart, with the franchise collectively spending over 200 days on the streamer’s rankings since its initial premiere.
Season 4 adapts ‘Gone Tomorrow’, the 13th novel in Child’s long-running series, expanding the show’s typical small-town backdrop into a much larger arena. The plot follows Reacher after a chance encounter with a distressed stranger on a subway leads to a sprawling conspiracy involving intelligence agencies, terrorists, and powerful political interests in New York City and Washington, D.C.

This broader scope has clearly resonated with both critics and audiences alike. The season currently boasts a Certified Fresh 94 percent critics score on Rotten Tomatoes, along with an 82 percent audience score, reflecting some of the strongest overall reception the franchise has enjoyed since its debut.
Reviewers have particularly commended the season’s willingness to delve deeper into espionage and surveillance themes while still delivering the brutal, hand-to-hand combat that has become the series’ hallmark. The new season also introduces new faces to the ensemble, including Christopher Marquette, Agnez Mo, Kevin Corrigan, Anggun, and Sydelle Noel, broadening the narrative without losing the show’s core identity.
Season 4 premiered on August 12 with its first three episodes, transitioning into a weekly release schedule that has kept audiences engaged and returning week after week. This sustained interest has propelled the season to the top of Prime Video’s charts not only in the U.S. but also across numerous international markets.
The franchise’s momentum shows no signs of slowing down. Prime Video has already renewed ‘Reacher’ for a fifth season, which is currently in production and expected to debut sometime in 2027, giving fans plenty to anticipate beyond this current run.

There’s also more expansion on the horizon within the same universe. A spinoff series titled ‘Neagley’, focusing on Maria Sten’s fan-favorite character as she investigates the suspicious death of someone from her past, is set to premiere on September 16, coinciding with the conclusion of Season 4.
For a franchise built on a straightforward premise—watching a formidable drifter dispense justice wherever he goes—’Reacher’ continues to demonstrate that execution is far more important than reinvention. With critical acclaim, record-setting chart performance, and a growing universe of spinoffs, Ritchson’s portrayal of Jack Reacher has firmly established itself as essential viewing on a global scale.
With Season 5 already underway and ‘Neagley’ set to further expand the franchise, there’s little reason to believe this action powerhouse will relinquish its grip on the charts anytime soon.
