New ‘VisionQuest’ Set Photo Reveals Todd Stashwick’s Paladin, the MCU’s Boba Fett
Marvel Television has been building excitement for ‘VisionQuest,’ the upcoming Disney+ series that brings Paul Bettany back to delve into Vision’s fractured memory and identity after the events of ‘WandaVision.’ With the premiere on October 14 approaching, Marvel has been steadily releasing casting announcements, trailer snippets, and behind-the-scenes peeks to keep fans engaged.
This rollout has introduced a growing ensemble around Bettany’s Vision, including James Spader reprising his role as Ultron, alongside other MCU AI characters brought to life in human form, such as Orla Brady as F.R.I.D.A.Y., Emily Hampshire as E.D.I.T.H., and James D’Arcy as J.A.R.V.I.S. The series also features Ruaridh Mollica as Tommy Maximoff, continuing a storyline first established in ‘Agatha All Along.’
Recently, a new set photo shared by TheDirect has provided fans with their clearest look yet at one of the series’ most anticipated characters: Todd Stashwick’s Paladin, a bounty hunter on a mission to track down Vision. The image showcases the character’s full costume, following his brief appearance in the official trailer that premiered at this year’s D23 Expo.
Paladin’s introduction to the MCU has sparked considerable interest since showrunner Terry Matalas first announced the casting at Star Trek Las Vegas 2025. During the convention, Matalas described the character in a way that resonated with fans, stating, “Paladin is a bounty hunter. He’s sort of the Boba Fett of the Marvel Universe,” as reported by Gizmodo.
This comparison has become increasingly relevant as more footage has emerged, showcasing the character’s helmeted, heavily armored design that draws direct visual parallels to the iconic ‘Star Wars’ bounty hunter. Stashwick has echoed this sentiment, calling Paladin a “badass” character, similar to previous roles Matalas has crafted for him in their collaborations.
In Marvel Comics, Paladin has a rich history as a mercenary and private investigator, having interacted with heroes like Daredevil, Spider-Man, and Luke Cage over the years. His appearance in ‘VisionQuest’ marks the character’s first live-action portrayal, allowing Marvel Television to introduce yet another comics-accurate figure into the expanding MCU roster of bounty hunters and morally ambiguous characters.
The show’s cast continues to grow around this central conflict, with Mary McDonnell joining in an undisclosed role, Lauren Morais portraying Lisa Molinari, and Diane Morgan playing an associate working with Paladin. Composer Mick Giacchino has also been confirmed to score the series, adding another layer of anticipation for how the show’s tone will develop.
As Marvel emphasizes Vision’s internal journey through memory and identity, Paladin’s role as an external threat provides ‘VisionQuest’ with a clear source of tension to balance its more introspective narrative. With a character designed to evoke one of pop culture’s most beloved bounty hunters, Stashwick’s role has quickly become one of the most discussed additions to the show’s ensemble.
As the October 14 premiere date approaches, fans can expect Marvel to continue unveiling more looks at Paladin and the rest of the cast, particularly as the studio capitalizes on comparisons that have already captured fan interest online.
For a series centered on themes of memory, identity, and what it means to be human, having a relentless bounty hunter pursuing Vision adds the kind of stakes fans have been eager to see.
