Marvel’s promotional campaign for ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ is in full swing. New pieces of art, toy displays, and posters are regularly surfacing online, showcasing various hero combinations that keep fans speculating about how the film will unite these characters.

The marketing has revealed some fascinating pairings. Previous promotional art featured Doctor Doom alongside Thor, Captain America, and Mister Fantastic, while other images highlighted unexpected duos like Ant-Man with Invisible Woman, Shang-Chi with Cyclops, and Gambit with Yelena Belova.

The latest image, shared on October 6 by MCU – The Direct, introduces another trio: Reed Richards, Thor, and Yelena Belova. The artwork prominently displays the ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ logo along with the tagline “In Theaters December 18.”

In the image, Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards stands at the forefront, clad in a white and light blue jacket featuring the Fantastic Four “4” emblem. Behind him, Chris Hemsworth’s Thor sports a short hairstyle and a dark battle suit, a look that has appeared in various promotional materials. Completing the trio, Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova is dressed in a dark green suit with striking blue eye makeup and her blonde hair styled back.

The trio is set against a dark green backdrop, lending the artwork a moody atmosphere that aligns with the film’s themes. This straightforward composition emphasizes the film’s intent to position the Fantastic Four, Avengers, and the next generation of heroes on equal ground.

Marvel has consistently showcased these combinations in its marketing. Yelena and Black Panther have been recurring figures, with a recent promo featuring Doctor Doom alongside Anthony Mackie’s Captain America, Letitia Wright’s Black Panther, and Pugh’s Yelena—a combination that has appeared multiple times. Additionally, Hasbro has launched a line of ‘Doomsday’ figures, including Thor, The Thing, Cyclops, Doctor Doom, a Sentinel, Beast, Captain America, and The Human Torch.

Recent promotional art has also highlighted the film’s epic scale. A new poster revealed Doctor Doom with three unidentified Latverian witches, while international materials have showcased the X-Men logo. Collectively, this promotional push indicates that Marvel aims for audiences to perceive ‘Doomsday’ as the largest assembly in its cinematic history.

Each character has taken a unique path to this film. Thor was featured in the second teaser trailer released in late December, following the first trailer that hinted at Chris Evans’ return as Steve Rogers. Reed Richards and the Fantastic Four have been prominently showcased in early trailers, and a post-credit scene featuring Doctor Doom and Franklin Richards has already sparked fan discussions.

Yelena represents the new generation stepping into the MCU. Pugh’s character has been a significant presence in the film’s marketing, indicating her important role. The film will also unite the Wakandans, the New Avengers, and the X-Men against Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom.

The Russo brothers, directing ‘Doomsday,’ have hinted that not all cast members have been revealed. The post-credit scene in ‘Avengers: Endgame Encore’ showed Doom capturing Bruce Banner, raising questions about potential surprise appearances. Filming took place from April to September 2025, with a sequel, ‘Avengers: Secret Wars,’ slated for December 17, 2027.

Audience anticipation seems to be high. Global Box Office reported this week that the film has surpassed $100 million in worldwide presales, following earlier reports of over $55 million domestically. With the release date just over two months away, fans can expect more promotional art leading up to the opening day.
