Jessica Biel has spent recent months demonstrating her ability to command the red carpet just as effortlessly as she does on a movie set. With a significant film release approaching, the actress has been using each stop on her press tour as an opportunity to experiment with her style. Her latest appearance may be her most striking yet.

Biel’s promotional journey began months ago, taking her from convention halls to premieres across two continents. Throughout this time, her fashion choices have garnered as much attention as the film itself. Each outfit has leaned towards the dramatic, with plunging necklines becoming a signature element.

Her recent stop in London continued this trend. Biel was spotted at the ‘Matchbox‘ London premiere on October 7, donning a black Nensi Dojaka cut-out strapless gown featuring a deep center opening. The VIP screening took place at The Cinema in the Power Station on a rainy evening.

The gown exemplifies Dojaka’s signature style: clean lines, a sharp neckline, and a structured silhouette that flows into a long, narrow skirt. In the photos shared online, Biel complements the look with a high ponytail that adds height and keeps the focus on the dress. The overall appearance is dark and streamlined.

She accessorized with oversized gold Schiaparelli earrings. One fashion outlet described the combination as minimalist with a maximalist twist, noting that the bold jewelry added just the right touch to the simple gown. This styling choice effectively prevents the outfit from appearing too severe.

The London appearance came just two days after the film’s New York premiere on October 5 at the AMC Lincoln Square Theater. There, Biel wore a Dolce & Gabbana blazer worn open over her bare torso, paired with a sheer black floor-length skirt and pointed black satin pumps. She completed the look with Cartier diamond earrings reportedly valued at $135,000 and a dramatic waist-length hairstyle styled by Adir Abergel.

Biel later changed into a gray Michael Kors blazer and trousers, followed by an ivory Self-Portrait silk top and trousers for a TV appearance. Together, her wardrobe choices reveal a thoughtful approach: sharp tailoring, black as a base, and plenty of skin. Her husband, Justin Timberlake, was also present at the New York event, arriving in a teal green blazer.

Biel wasn’t alone on the London carpet. Her co-star John Cena attended with his wife, Shay Shariatzadeh, and the couple was photographed sharing a sweet moment. In New York, they matched in green, a detail that fans clearly appreciated.

This camaraderie reflects the tone of the film itself. ‘Matchbox: The Movie’ follows a group of childhood friends whose lives are disrupted when their long-absent former leader returns to their small town. This leader, an undercover CIA agent named Sean, portrayed by Cena, inadvertently pulls them into a frantic international chase to save the world.

The Apple Original Film, produced by Skydance Media and Mattel Films, is directed by Sam Hargrave, known for ‘Extraction’, and written by David Coggeshall. In addition to Cena and Biel, the cast features Sam Richardson, Arturo Castro, Teyonah Parris, Corey Stoll, Bill Camp, Danai Gurira, and Golshifteh Farahani. It is set to premiere on Apple TV on October 9.

This film marks Mattel’s next release following Greta Gerwig’s Oscar-winning ‘Barbie’ in 2023. The Matchbox brand itself has a rich history, dating back to 1953 when it was created by the die-cast company Lesney Products, before being acquired by Mattel in 1997. With Hargrave directing, expectations are high for impressive practical stunt work.

For Biel, this project holds special significance. It is her first film in nine years, following 2017’s ‘Shock and Awe’, and she discussed her return at San Diego Comic-Con in July, where the film’s trailer premiered. She expressed her excitement about the ensemble cast and the nostalgia of the toys she played with as a child.

Biel has also mentioned that the movie’s stunt work has garnered admiration from her two sons. Despite her absence from feature films, she remained active, earning a Critics Choice nomination for her role in Prime Video’s ‘The Better Sister’, where she wore a striking black-and-gold Lanvin gown with a daring open back.

With the film’s streaming debut just a day away, the press tour is nearing its end. Based on recent events, Biel appears determined to conclude it in style. Fans will soon discover if the movie’s action and humor live up to the glamorous anticipation.
