Marvel Studios has kept Robert Downey Jr.’s portrayal of Victor von Doom closely guarded, prompting fans to get inventive in their search for clues. Recently, the toy aisle has emerged as the nearest thing to a trailer for the villain’s costume, with each new collectible acting as a tiny piece of the puzzle.

This is why even a small, charming figure can ignite so much discussion. Merchandise has been particularly revealing this season, featuring a Hot Toys figure showcasing Doom in various looks and the first promo art unveiled at a Disney marketing expo in Shanghai. Each item provides fans with another glimpse of an armor design that the studio has scarcely revealed on screen.

The latest addition is a first look at Beast Kingdom’s mini Doctor Doom figure for ‘Avengers: Doomsday.’ The images depict the character cloaked in deep green against a misty, spotlighted backdrop, accompanied by an artwork card that reads “Doctor Doom” at the bottom. This figure appears to be part of Beast Kingdom’s Egg Attack Action line, specifically the EAA-175 release, presenting Doom in a stylized chibi design.

True to the chibi style, the proportions are adorable yet the details remain menacing. His oversized silver mask rests beneath a dark green hood, featuring glowing green eyes and rivet details across the face. The figure is also adorned with a detailed armored suit and an iconic dark green cloak.

Retailer listings indicate that the toy stands approximately 4.8 inches tall and is crafted from PVC and ABS plastic. It boasts around 15 points of articulation, allowing fans to pose Doom in both commanding and battle-ready stances. Additionally, it includes three pairs of interchangeable hands: fists, gripping hands, and open hands.

This figure is officially licensed by Marvel Studios. A note on the artwork card mentions that the final product is pending the licensor’s approval, meaning minor changes could occur before it ships.

Pre-orders began in August at $47.99 through retailers like Entertainment Earth and BigBadToyStore, with a premium packaging option priced at $50.99. The estimated arrival is set for January 2027, although some retailers have already marked it as sold out, indicating that fans are eager for the full reveal.

Beast Kingdom has established a global reputation with its Egg Attack Action series, transforming pop-culture characters into articulated, stylized figures. The company’s Doomsday range also includes a blind box set under its Mini Egg Attack line, with the Doom figure being the standout piece for collectors.

The figure also reflects the look pieced together by other products. Comics Beat noted that the apparent design, attributed to veteran MCU costumer Judianna Makovsky, is darker than the green robes Doom donned during his cameo in the mid-credits scene of ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps.’ Notable alterations from the classic comic appearance include chainmail, a visible lamellar breastplate, and symbols on the cloak clasps, which likely signify Doom’s mastery of science and magic.

Doom is set to have multiple looks. A Hot Toys Victor von Doom figure reveals a second costume resembling formal traveling attire, matching the outfit from Downey’s post-credits appearance, according to IGN. TBreak highlighted that the figure confirms Doom will appear in at least two distinct looks, although it does not clarify when either will be featured in the film. Officially licensed Funko merchandise has also referred to the character as “Lord Doom” instead of “Doctor Doom.”

The Beast Kingdom release is just one part of a growing collection. Entertainment Earth lists several other Doomsday Doom collectibles, including a Bandai S.H.Figuarts version, a 6-inch Marvel Legends release, and Iron Studios pieces, including a 1:4 scale Doom statue. There’s also a LEGO New Avengers Tower and Regal promotions tied to the opening weekend.

Behind the scenes, Downey’s dedication to the role has been well documented. Co-director Joe Russo previously described the actor’s process as very intense, noting that Downey contributed to the character’s backstory and offered ideas for costume and styling. The ensemble cast includes Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Florence Pugh, and Pedro Pascal, who will all confront the villain alongside the Fantastic Four, the New Avengers, the Wakandans, and the X-Men.

With ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ set to hit theaters on December 18, the toy aisle is playing a significant role in early storytelling. A pint-sized Doom with glowing green eyes may appear to be a lighthearted diversion, but it also provides fans with one of the clearest glimpses of the armor yet.
