‘Heated Rivalry’ Release Date and Screening Details for Fans
Streaming hits rarely transition to the big screen, but ‘Heated Rivalry’ is no ordinary success. The Canadian hockey romance captured global attention after its debut on Crave and HBO Max in November 2025, fueled by viral moments, clever writing, and the undeniable chemistry between its leads.
Created by Jacob Tierney and inspired by Rachel Reid’s ‘Game Changers’ books, the series chronicles the journey of rival professional hockey players Shane Hollander, portrayed by Hudson Williams, and Ilya Rozanov, played by Connor Storrie, over eight years filled with ambition, rivalry, and secret love. Crave reported it as its most-watched original series debut, leading to a second season being greenlit just 15 days after the premiere.
Now, fans who have been enjoying the series at home will have the opportunity to watch it in theaters. ‘Heated Rivalry’ will hit theaters starting November 6, with Season 1 presented in three paired screenings: Episodes 1 and 2, Episodes 3 and 4, and Episodes 5 and 6.
These pairings align with the show’s natural flow. The first screening features “Rookies” and “Olympians,” the second includes “Hunter” and “Rose,” while the third showcases “I’ll Believe in Anything” and “The Cottage.” This format allows audiences to experience the entire six-episode season in sequence.
In the United States, Regal is leading the screenings in collaboration with Sphere Abacus, the Bell Media company that helped introduce the show to international viewers. The film will be shown in over 650 theaters, including AMC and Cinemark locations, from November 6 through November 30, with tickets priced at $9.99 for each pairing.
The rollout extends beyond the U.S. Sphere Abacus confirmed that screenings will also take place in the U.K., Australia, and New Zealand. Executive Hana Palmer referred to the show as a global phenomenon and expressed excitement about allowing audiences to witness the drama on the big screen.
In Canada, where the series originated, Cineplex will screen the show on November 6, followed by a complete marathon of all six episodes on November 8. This marathon, complete with intermissions, runs for about five hours and 22 minutes, presenting a challenge even for the most dedicated fans.

Regal screenings will also feature bonus content, including a special welcome message and additional material with the cast, show creator, and director. This makes the event feel more like a fan celebration rather than just a rerun.
The timing serves as an early anniversary celebration, coinciding with the series’ one-year mark since its premiere on November 28, 2025. For a show that thrived on online buzz, gathering in a theater with fellow viewers is a fitting next step.
The series has remained a cultural staple throughout the year, receiving praise for Tierney’s direction, the writing, and the chemistry between its stars, who have become regulars on red carpets, presenting at the Golden Globes in January and making their Met Gala debuts in May.
This popularity has created a demand for a shared viewing experience. Many fans first encountered the show through clips shared online, and a theatrical release allows them to experience the complete story, including the more intimate scenes, with an audience.
While fans await the next season, production is already underway. Filming began in Toronto in August, and Tierney has indicated that the new season is set to premiere in April 2027, primarily drawing from ‘The Long Game’ while incorporating elements from ‘Role Model.’
This theatrical run acts as a bridge between seasons, providing viewers a chance to relive the story that started it all while the creative team prepares for the next chapter.
Tickets can be purchased through participating theaters, with showtimes varying by location. Fans in the U.S. can check Regal, AMC, and Cinemark listings, while those in Canada should look to Cineplex for the November 6 screenings and the November 8 marathon.
Given the excitement surrounding the announcement, popular showtimes may sell out quickly, so fans eager to catch the series on the big screen should consider booking their tickets early.
