Disney Characters That Begin With O: 30 Iconic Names
It might seem that names that begin with the letter O would not be very common. Still, you’d be surprised to know that there are 30 Disney characters, both primary and supporting, whose names begin with O. These include Olaf, Oogie Boogie, Oliver, and Owl. How many of these names do you recognize?
1. Oaken (Frozen/Frozen II)
Oaken owns and operates Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post and Sauna in Arendelle. He and his family also live at the Post. Oaken loves happy customers, and he doesn’t like bad ones. He will throw you out of his store if you call him a crook. He is very tall.
2. Obake (Big Hero 6: The Series)
Obake was previously known as Bob Aken. He is the main antagonist in season one of Big Hero 6: The Series. In seasons two and three of the series, he is also an antagonist, though his role is much smaller.
He likes science and robotics and hates failure, whether it be his own or someone else’s.
3. The Ocean (Moana)
Some may not consider the Ocean an actual character, but the Ocean plays a considerable role in Moana through supernatural logic. The Ocean has to find someone to save humanity when they are cursed, and it chooses Moana.
In return, the Ocean becomes one of Moana’s most trusted friends. The Ocean is helpful, patient, and predictable and despises anyone who is against Moana.
4. Oddball (102 Dalmatians/102 Dalmatians: Puppies to the Rescue)
Oddball is one of Dottie and Dipstick’s puppies in the live-action Dalmatian film and video game based on the same movie. She is the only dog in the entire series with no spots. She is fast and doesn’t like not having spots, being captured, or Cruella. She does like her brothers Domino and Dipper and the idea of having spots.
5. Olaf (Frozen/Frozen II)
Olaf is the friendliest, summer-loving snowman that you will ever meet. Elsa created him using her magic. He symbolizes childhood innocence and joy and the bond between Anna and Elsa since he was created based on Elsa’s memories of playing with Anna when she was younger.
He is selfless, often putting himself in harm’s way to save others, especially Anna. He cares deeply for the sisters. He ironically loves summer and warm hugs but hates melting.
6. Okra (Lilo and Stitch: The Series)
In the Lilio and Stitch television series, Dr. Gladys Okra is a media proprietor and public speaker who hosts radio and television shows. She is loosely based on Oprah. She likes giving speeches and doesn’t like Spike (Experiment 319).
7. The Oracle (Aladdin and the King of Thieves)
The Oracle is a spirit attached to a staff that is being given to Aladdin and Jasmine as a wedding gift. She answers one question from one person at a time. She reveals to Aladdin his father’s fate.
She like giving honest, direct answers. She doesn’t like Iago, especially when he repeatedly asks her the same question.
8. Oogie Boogie (The Nightmare Before Christmas)
Oogie Boogie is not your typical Disney character, but Nightmare Before Christmas is not your typical Disney movie either. He is a personification of the Bogeyman and is a burlap sack filled with bugs and a snake for a tongue. He likes to gamble.
Oogie Boogie is the antagonist of the film. He doesn’t like to lose, and he certainly doesn’t like Jack Skellington. His three henchmen, Lock, Shock, and Barrel, aren’t very loyal to him.
9. Ollie (Home on the Range)
Ollie is a hopeful, happy pig. He may look like he is constantly worried and does get nervous easily. But he is actually optimistic, wise, and loves to help others. He loves to sing and dance with the farm’s other animals.
10. Olivia Farmer (The Fox and the Hound 2)
Olivia Farmer is a little girl who accompanies talent scout Winchell P. Bickerstaff to find talented performers for the fair. She has bright red hair that she wears in pigtails. Her character is reminiscent of Pippi Longstocking.
11. Oliver (Oliver and Company)
Oliver Fletcher Foxworth, or Oliver, is a cat and main character in the animated film Oliver and Company. Since the movie is based on the Dickens tale Oliver Twist, Oliver is based on that Oliver and is also an orphan.
He joins Fagin’s gang of street dogs to survive, where he meets Dodger. He wanted most to find a home, which he eventually did with Jenny.
12. Orville (The Rescuers)
Orville is an albatross who gives Bernard and Ms. Bianca a lift to rescue Penny. He has a brother named Wilbur. He is the more serious of the two.
He likes to sing and hum, especially during takeoff. He doesn’t like waiting on Bernard because he is running late. His character was inspired by Orville Wright.
13. Orthos (Hercules: The Series)
Orthos is Echnida’s son, a two-headed cyclops, in the animated Hercules series. Instead of becoming a guardian or legend as his siblings did, he stayed behind to live in his mother’s forest.
He likes delivery boys (for lunch) and doesn’t like being humiliated by Hercules or getting in trouble with his mother.
14. Ortensia (Walt Disney)
Ortensia was a cartoon cat that Walt Disney created in his early years. She is considered a precursor to the more popular Minnie Mouse, as there are a lot of similarities between the two.
The first film Ortensia appeared in was The Banker’s Daughter (1927) as the girlfriend and later wife of Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. She was absent for several decades but was later re-introduced in the Epic Mickey video games.
15. Oswald the Lucky Rabbit (Walt Disney)
Oswald the Lucky Rabbit is another of Walt Disney’s original characters. His first film was Trolley Troubles in 1927, and he appeared in several short films until 1938. At this time, he was replaced by Mickey Mouse.
Along with Ortensia and their 420 bunny children, he was re-introduced in the Epic Mickey video games.
16. Orddu (The Black Cauldron)
Orddu is one of the Three Witches of Morva in Disney’s 1985 animated film The Black Cauldron. The Three Witches were based on the witches from The Prydain Chronicles, the witches from Macbeth, and the Greek Mythology Fates. Orddu loves a good bargain.
17. Orwen (The Black Cauldron)
Orwen is one of The Three Witches of Morva. She is the sister of Orddu and Orgoch. Out of the three sisters, she is the most boy-crazy. She is pretty fond of Fflewddur Fflam. She offers Taran his sword back, but he declines.
18. Orgoch (The Black Cauldron)
Orgoch is another of the Three Witches of Morva. She is the sister of Orddu and Orwen. She likes food. Along with her sisters, she does not like being accused of not having powers.
19. Ozker (The Emperor’s New School)
Ozker is the biggest fan of Kuzco. He pretended to be an emperor so that he could get to know him. In reality, he is a decathlon champion. At first, Kuzco thought he was Yzma in disguise, trying to sabotage his yearbook photo. Later, Kuzco realized he wasn’t and saved Ozker from a trap.
20. The Owl (The Nutcracker and the Four Realms)
The Owl is a character in the live-action film The Nutcracker and the Four Realms. The inspiration for this character was the owl grandfather clock from the original Nutcracker story and ballet. He is helpful to Drosselmeyer, and he keeps watch over Clara.
21. Owl (Winnie the Pooh)
Owl is one of the beloved characters of the Winnie the Pooh franchise. He lives in Hundred Acre Wood with Winnie and the others. The character of Owl is based on the stereotype of owls being wise. However, Owl’s wisdom is often questionable.
He likes telling stories (that are often long and boring), reading, writing, talking in general, educating his friends, and honey. He doesn’t like being corrected or ignored, arguing with Rabbit, wind (because it could knock over his tree house), or being unable to sing.
22. Otus (Hercules: The Series)
Otus is a Greek aquatic demigod inspired by the Greek mythological figure of the same name. He is the son of Poseidon and Amphitrite. Triton is his brother.
During the raid on the Trojan Academy, Otus fought against Hercules.
23. Otto (Robin Hood)
Otto is an elderly dog and resident of Nottingham. He is the town’s blacksmith but isn’t working during the film because of an injury. His foot is bandaged, and he walks with a cane.
Otto is very kind and generous. He likes Robin Hood, who gives him money to help out when he gets behind on his work because of his injury. He tries to hide the money from the Sherriff by putting it in his cast, but the Sheriff hears it jingle when he walks.
Otto is later imprisoned for not paying taxes, but Little John breaks him out.
24. Mr. Otterton (Zootopia)
Emmit Otterton is a river otter who resides with his wife and two children in the Rainforest District of Zootopia. He is a florist. He has been missing for several days, and his disappearance is one of the major plot lines of the film.
Mr. Otterton is one of 14 animals that have gone missing in Zootopia. Officer Hopps is assigned to investigate his disappearance, with the stipulation that she must resign from the force if she doesn’t solve his case in 48 hours.
He and the other missing animals are found and have gone savage because of exposure to night howlers. After he is rescued and cured with the antidote, he is reunited with his wife.
25. Mrs. Otterton (Zootopia)
Mrs. Otterton is Emmitt’s wife and is also a river otter. She goes on a mission to find her missing husband. She is very determined to meet with the Cheif to get help finding him because she is convinced that he wouldn’t just leave his business and family for no reason.
She is very appreciative to Officer Hopps for taking her husband’s case. When Emmitt is rescued in a savage state, Mrs. Otterton is very saddened because this isn’t the husband she knows.
She is reunited with him after he has been given the antidote and is very happy to have her husband back.
26. Otis (Lady and the Tramp II: Scamp’s Adventure)
Otis is a wild-looking chihuahua that Scamp meets when he is brought to the pound. He gets really excited when he is watching fights, no matter who is involved. Otis laughs a lot, especially when other dogs are fighting. He also likes cauliflower.
He doesn’t like the dog catcher, nor does he like being imprisoned at the pound. When Angel and Scamp escape the pound, Otis begs them to free him too, but they don’t.
27. Osvaldo Orozco Ortiz (Encanto)
Osvaldo is one of the townspeople and a delivery guy in Encanto. He is also called the donkey delivery guy. He is very fond of the Madrigal family and loves helping them out.
He tries to help Mirabel by giving her what he has dubbed the “not special special” to make her feel better about being the only Madrigal without a gift. However, it only reminds her that she isn’t gifted and makes her feel worse.
Bruno told Osvaldo that he would grow a gut, and he did gain weight, which he was not happy about. At the film’s end, he helps the Madrigals rebuild the Casa Madrigal to restore the magic after it is destroyed.
28. Oscar (Beverly Hills Chihuahua 3)
Oscar is one of the antagonists in Beverly Hills Chihuahua 3. He lives at the Langham Huntington Pasadena Hotel. He is warm and welcoming when Papi, Chloe, and their puppies first arrive at the hotel. He talks to Chloe several times during their stay.
However, when Papi tries to discover what is going on behind the gate, Oscar won’t let him. This leads Papi to become suspicious of him. Although he is not shown actually doing anything terrible, Oscar was involved with Jenny’s misdeeds.
At the film’s end, Oscar is arrested and led away by Delgado, most likely to the pound.
29. Olivia Flaversham (The Great Mouse Detective)
Olivia Flaversham is a brave and sweet little girl. A bat kidnaped her father on her birthday, and she goes to get Basil to help look for him, but she gets lost trying to find Baker street. She met Dawson, who took her to Basil.
Olivia becomes fast friends with Holmes’s Bassett hound, Toby. Olivia is also kidnapped by Ratigan’s crew when the group goes looking for her father. Olivia manages to escape Ratigan by biting him, and Basil rescues her and reunites her with her dad.
Olivia likes animals, especially Toby, her father’s handmade toys, Basil and Dawson, and going on adventures. She doesn’t like when people mispronounce her last name or being separated from her father.
30. Otis (Cars 2)
Otis is a 1972 Shyster Cremlin from Radiator Springs in Carburetor County. He breaks down a lot (ten times in one month, to be exact). Mater tows him across the county line and to Ramone for repair.
Since he breaks down constantly, he is known as a lemon. However, he’s not a bad guy like the other lemons in the film.
Otis is caring and kind and appreciative to Mater for towing him, even though he took him for a wild ride along the way.
